I dont get it. I'm a level 8 Rogue and the guy at Khranos..Follow

and half of the skills listed here aren't even on the Rogue Trainer's list!

I don't get it!

3.3 Combat/SS build
Suggested Talents: Imp Evis, Imp SS, Weapon Specialization, Blade Flurry, Adrenaline Rush
PvE:This tends to be a terriffic build for PvE as your min damage is never too low and your crits is usually pretty decent. This also does even better in instances as the longer the fights lasts, your DPS increases even higher.

PvP:Don't expect to end your fights in 2-3 shots but because of how this build is you can survive a longer fight. In fact, the longer fights means you can lay down some serious hurt on your target. Each individual attack with a mace/sword is a decent amount of damage and with talents like Adren Rush and Blade Flurry you can do a large amount of damage fairly quickly.

Example:
Assassination Mastery
Improved Eviscerate Rank 3
Malice Rank 5
Ruthlessness Rank 3
Improved Slice and Dice Rank 1
Relentless Strikes Rank 1
Lethality Rank 5
Assassination Total: 18

Combat Mastery
Improved Sinister Strike Rank 2
Lightning Reflexes Rank 5
Deflection Rank 5
Precision Rank 5
Riposte Rank 1
Dual Wield Specialization Rank 5
Mace Specialization Rank 5
Blade Flurry Rank 1
Aggression Rank 3
Adrenaline Rush Rank 1
Combat Total: 33

I'm pretty sure the paladin trainer there has all of the skills available... are you sure you had the available skills checked? otherwise maybe its just buggin out on you.

Let me rephrase.

I'm at the Rogue trainer over there.

Yet many of the skills aren't even listed on his little....list.

I'm talking about skills I'm not a high enough level for. I'm trying to plan it out.

I believe every place outside of newb towns has all your skills.

I meant talents.

So, the newb towns dont list all of the talents? Even though Eviscirate goes to like level 7 there?

talents=\=skills

When you hit level 10 you will unlock the talent menu, but before that you must go to thottbot and the such.

look at the level of the trainer.

Thats a good indicator to how much skills they will give you.

Generally if your higher than the trainer you need to go somewhere else... fast :P.

Ok, lastly, I'm a Gnome Rogue, so would this set up even be viable? You sound like you know what you're tlaking about.

Question....if Talents haven't bee unlocked why isn't anyone talking about skills?

what's the difference between Sinister Strike level 2 and Improved Sinister Strike?

I have no ideas with SKILLS to use

higher ranks of your skills do more damage. They use the same amount of energy each rank, and thus replace the former rank when bought, but their power is mucho better. even without a single talent point your still going to be potent in battle...not saying i suggest that..

You can get every *skill* that the rogue class offers, you don't have to pick and choose. The talents, on the other hand, you have to plan out since there are many many more of those than you will have talent points for.

Just incase you still don't understand... I'll be as simple as possible.

Skills, are abilities you buy from you're class trainer. If your trainer in Kharanos doesn't have all your skills, your trainer in the next closest place will. (IronForge) And you can ask a gaurd there, to point you in the direction of your class trainer, and put a little marker on your minimap.

Talents, are basically unique improvements to your character. Once you reach level 10, you'll get a little button down by the button you push to look at your equipment, or to look at your abilities, or to look at your quest. The button will have a little arrow hitting a target. (Or you can hit the *N* key to bring up the menu for talents I beleive.) Then, once every level, (including level 10) you can just click on a talent that you want. More talents will open up in a particular tree, once you spend more points in them.

Have fun. :)

Thanks everyone.

I had thought that skills came automatically for non-magic users, like FFXI.
