Well, I have WoW in the back of my car. My wife bought it for me for Christmas. I cannot open it, I cannot play it, but I get to know it's (somewhat) in mo possession.

FFXI isn't doing anything for me anymore, now that I know I'm done with it. I keep on giving my wife those puppy-dog eyes and sighing loudly as I passively play FF, hoping beyond hope she'll cave and give it to me early.

<sigh>, how many days till Christmas?

that sucks man, I have horde characters on Ner zhul (PvP) and Cenarius (PvE) If you are on the PST servers, hop on and say hey :)

It reminds me of when I was a kid and knowing I had that super nintendo in the closet and blueprinting how I was going to play it then seal it back up like new. Never worked, but now knowing that a blowdrier will heat up glue (hint) and all you need is a cd key, you can dl it from the net through various sources (hint).

Anyway man, I feel for you, and damn your wife for telling you.

Well, that's not entirely her fault, I walked her to the game, grunted and pointed at at, and told here I was going next door for about 5 minutes and that I'd meet her at the car :)

You could always hold out on... *whispers* sex. My wife seems to enjoy doing that if she doesn't get what she wants.

We've been married for almost 10 years, I doubt she would even notice my "holding out" for 3 weeks, LOL!!!!!

But good suggestion nonetheless....

I haven't even been married six months and she doesn't notice if I do that. I hate that unfair advantage women have. Smiley: banghead

Oh goody, it just gets better. I helped a friend of mine move all his stuff from an old case to a new case with better cooling. His payment for the favor? The WoW Strategy Guide. So now I get to read the guide, yet still not be able to play.

Going nuts.....

Okay... From the perspective of a 23 year old in a serious relationship with partially shared finances (and I don't mean to criticize in any way) ...

How are you not allowed to just BUY what you want? I mean when I started reading your post I was shocked to see that it was your WIFE holding it from you.

Personally, I am not the most patient man in the world, and when there's something like WoW to buy - I buy it. I don't buy many games. My game cost half as much as my gf spends on a nice pair of jeans. We don't have a lot of money, and do adhere to a budget... But after the bills are paid and some money is put away, we each get what I guess you could call an "allowance"

How can you let your wife keep you from it?!??!?!?!??!?! Tell her to buy you a DVD for Christmas and give you the damn game, NOW!

And $15/month ... I know ... it's $180 a year that could go to your RRSP or Mortgage - but come on! You need a certain degree of freedom!! Fight for your rights, man!

Sorry ... got a bit carried away. I really don't mean any offense or anything. I'm just scared enough by the prospect of marriage - and then I hear a story like that - and it just scares me more!

Good luck either way, and if you don't get it until Christmas - you'll have a damn Merry Christmas!

We have a "buying stuff for yourself" freeze that begins on November 1st every year. If the game had been released in October I'd be gold.

Actually, I think she's about to crack. The guide gives me tons of stuff to babble to her about, and the only way to stop me from my incessant rambling is to give me the game.

Mwaaahhaaaaaa

You think you have it rough... I might get WoW for Christmas, but even if I do It'll probably be another month after that before I have a computer to run it on. Stupid motherboard!

IT WORKED!

She broke and gave me the game on Thursday night (hence - no posts until now). Took me a little while to get used to the interface, but it's all that it's billed to be - great game.
