One.

He was one of the fastest levels in the CB, and he has reputation for being very fast in all of the games he and his friends play in. They have quite a MMO history.

Yea. The general consensus among the high level players is that someone who had done it several times before and knew the best path could get the leveling done that quickly.

He also had the benefit of being at the front of the pack, and not having to worry about high levels being around to gank him.

I'm just amazed to see that Sniper got passed up on Illidan. He was ahead of the pack for quite a while.

But their right think about it. Let's say you had been there from the start of CB. In that time you could have easily leveled every class for your favorite race to lvl 60.

By that time he already knew what he wanted to play, and he already knew how to get there. He knew what quests to do, which ones to possibly avoid or hold off on. Where to get money fast, where to get the equipment he wanted.

If he crafted any (doubtful) he also knew where to get the patterns he wanted for anything he wanted to make for himself. In my opinion power to him for doing it. While I don't see me hitting cap within the next week or anything I do plan on getting a character to higher levels as fast as I can.

I never said that wasn't true, and in fact, I believe it is.

I know, I wasn't meaning you. I made the mistake of reading a bunch of posts on a thread about it on www.worldofwarcraft.com, and it made me sick how many people attacked him simply because he got to level 60 already.

sick jealousy if you ask me.

No he can sit at the top and complain that theres no content and stuff so they're forced to cater to him instead of making content for all lvl ranges. Thats usually what powergamers do.

Except he's not. He and his guild were working on getting high enough so they can tangle the high end bosses which were never beat during OB.

Hell he didn't even make the post over at the offical site, one of his guild mates because they were proud of him. He's not the A-Hole that you see in some powergamers.

How did he set up his interface like that?

I'd say either Cosmos or a self made GUI.

Cosmos is the most widely used GUI. I don't use it myself, but i'm pretty sure you can find the link over at www.worldofwarcraft.com, just go to the Custom GUI Forum and look for something about Cosmos.

I remember Fenix was a mage during OB on my server. He came with a group and just wiped out everyone that was at Darkshore.

ANyone care to think that he used a speed hack?

We know people are doing it... who would see him speed hacking when nobody else was in his zone?....

He is a hacker for sure. Dont care if he has played before speed hacking increases the rate of lvling by alot.

He also must never sleep. Wish I could do that, but I seem to feel sick after about 10 hours of play and just collapse for about 10 hours heh.

He's not a hacker just knows what he's doing.

Anyway what proff do you have that people are speed hacking?
#25 Dec 04 2004 at 8:27 PM Rating: Decent
Possibly the huge announcement on the front page that they've banned a bunch of people for speed hacking. doesnt mean this guy is though.

Wow.

All the power to him - I mean if I had a trust fund (I.e. didn't have to work) and didn't have school, friends, poker and a gf, I would be a powergamer. If I was a powergamer, I'd be pissed that he beat me to it!

However ...

The fact that this is possible is a bit disturbing. I mean one of the beautiful things about FFXI was that while progress was slow, it was rewarding. When you got a level, you felt like you accomplished something (at least I did). I played 75 DAYS PLAYTIME on FFXI and didn't get near the level cap. I mean I could have been 75 in that time, but there were so many things to keep my busy that getting to 75 was never my prime focus. Anyway .. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if he got to 60 in 10 days, there is no way he has more than 8-9 days of playtime (unless he uses speed in place of sleep). Now - he knows what he's doing. Even if you double or triple that, it's still a hell of a short ride to the cap.

Is it a good thing that the cap can be reached so quickly???
