...just a meeting place for new people to undress their characters, and spam the /dance and /chicken emotes?

Especially the Human lands. All I see are dozens of people undressed, dancing around each other. Also seems to be quite popular, are males /dancing behind females.

While I am thinking about it, the other day, there was an "interested" discussion in general (forgot to /leave 1 for that day) chat. To put it short, it turned into a talk about smurfs, which included "Does smurfette gets gangbanged by all the other smurfs?" and other useless gibberesh.

I can't wait for the Game Payment Cards to come out, and we get flooded by all the level 13- kiddies /sarcasm

Its probably your server man. On Silverhand, at least in the Horde starting area, we are (while when I started, haven't been back >.>) very serious about taking on the challenges of the alliance.

It's just the newbie areas. People that do that silly kind of stuff can't really make it anywhere hostile because they're always level 1 characters.

As for general chat being a cesspool, that's nothing new. Even in EQ, where ooc was a little less prolific since there wasn't so much to ask questions about regarding local quests, I've still seen my share of random BS.

Don't forget a lot of it has to do with server downtimes and that sometimes people switch for the hours that their servers are down and just do stupid things. While that has nothing to do with general chat...general chats always bad.
