Help with Trade SkillsFollow

#1 Nov 29 2004 at 10:59 PM Rating: Default
I have trained in cooking, and the lowest recipie sold by the trainer is too high for me. I am a noob to WoW, I crafted a lot in ffxi. Can someone walk me through how you go about activting a tradeskill in WoW? I don't have the first idea. This topic was not on the first page of posts, forgive me for not going all the way back.

Open up your abilities window, in your general tab, you will have cooking, and basic campfire. Open up cooking and it should have 3 recipes in it, you use those to level up untill you get higher level recipes. The recipes ussually coincide with some of the mobs you will be killing at or around your level. Also, you might wind up having to do a bit of traveling to find certain cooking recipes, and some quests give recipes.

thanks bud :) - I just thought I could get some help on these forums - I didn't want someone else to call me a n00b so I thought I'd point it out myself

Vapyre - thanks, I suppose I should have found that muself since I'm not a n00b gamer, just a n00b WoW'er - but I appreciate your help. Are other t4radeskills similar? - I haven't trained in any yet as I read I can only have two primary skills and I haven't decided yet...

Yes other tradeskills are somewhat similar. Cooking, fishing, and first aid are secondary and others are primary in which you can only have 2. Most primary tradeskills require a complimentary gathering tradeskill, so in most instances you will only have 1 actual crafting trade skill.

One thing to be aware of...you can only have two tradeskills at a time, but you can drop one whenever you want. The only penalty is that you lose any skill points you've earned in it. So, there's really no reason not to pick up a couple and try 'em out to see how you like them. If you don't, you can just dump it and try another. Even at very low levels, you can get something useful out of most of them.

On the bar to the left, the tradeskills link leads to very useful information, especially for a cook after recipies. Specifically, there's a very good list of the various combines and items that result therefrom, for each of the crafting tradeskills.

Generally, fishing merchants will sell recipies to cook fish.

It's NEWB not n00b.

You are a WoW NEWB.

If you were a WoW n00b that would mean you were lvl 40 warrior and thought you could tell a lvl 50 warlock how to play his class.

Or if a lvl 50 warrior tried to give you advice and you just gave him attitude.

That would make you a WoW n00b.
