The best overall solo classFollow

#27 Nov 30 2004 at 9:22 AM Rating: Default
Ive seen lots of rogues, sit there a solo spots, but ive seen alot of mages solo really well, beacuse if you put ur abilties and talents right you barely ever get touched by anything while your a mage, my friend has a mage and he just uses frost alot and they barely ever reach him, all he does is frost nova, then nuke them from a really long distance.

Warrior: can solo well, especially with fury. Bring food.
Paladin: can solo well, especially with retribution. Expect a higher % of time in battle because kills are slow but downtime low
Rogue: can solo well by killing stuff fairly quickly
Hunter: can solo well by having a portable tank
Shaman: can solo well with non-restoration talents
Druid: not sure about druids, someone else will have to comment
Warlock: see hunter. Slightly more difficult imho.
Priest: can solo very well with shadow talents
Mage: can blow stuff up quickly with fire

So to sum up, if I'm getting this right:

Believe the hype, any class can solo.
Learn your trade well and prepare for best results.
Priests are probably the hardest, but offset because Priests can easily find groups.

When does my PlayOnline subscription expire again? lol

Thanks!

OK, let me chime in here...the best soloing class discussion has gone on in every MMO board for as long as I can remember, and you will never get a consensus. Why? Because the term best is too vague. Do you mean flat out able to deal damage? Able to handle adds? Just plain most fun (which is what is most important for me...I do not mind dying or failing if I am having fun, after all it is a game and games are to have fun)?

So, my answer is, I have really enjoyed soloing to level 21 so far my Tauren hunter. In open beta I had fun soloing a Pally and a druid. In the stress test I had fun soloing a warlock. In fact, I have to make a warlock, and do it again.

Sorry if I am not being helpful, but my point is, everyone has their own opinion about this and my advice would be to start a character and play it...if are not having fun, create something else.

Oh, and my wife plays a female gnome warrior...not what anyone would recommend, I am sure...and she has a blast with it. This is the first MMo she has really enjoyed. She would say "Oh, gnome warrior uber-cupie doll is the right choice."

:-)

Mages weak point is resistances and immunes...so not too good for soloing, but you can always pass those mobs

I am a warrior and I can solo pretty well as long as I don't pull to many. Make sure you havve potions for that just incase situation. Also carry food and bandages to help with healing. But i have no problems. Just make sure you do all the crippling moves to keep the mobs from dealing to much damage to you and then go with the offensive moves to finish.

Heh, this seeming "non-answer" is, in fact, a perfect answer. So simply ask yourself, 'what will I have the most fun with'? The answer is the best soloable class. Love it, thanks!

For the Hoarde...

1. Warlock

2. people dont realise till they actually try them, but ROGUE is a pretty crazy leveler.

I'll also vote Hunter, with Warlock a close 2nd...

You have to be willing to sacrifice your pet/summon if it means the difference between life or death... Any pet with Growl can draw aggro pretty well, combined with the "Stay" command, you get a quick exit... Smiley: smile

The pets get over it, throw 'em some food and they forget you got them killed, real fast... The summons, well, they aren't real... Smiley: lol

I do believe just about every class is soloable, but you specifically asked which was "best"... Just my $.02...
