Anybody know if Blizzard is adding any special Christmas time features to WoW during the holiday season? One of the nice things about FFXI was the halloween thing! Any FFXI players wanna comment on one of the better sides of FFXI? (on a side note many people lost alot of hard earned money which is kinda funny)

Well for those of you that dont know what it is, heres how it worked.

Random Friendly Monster NPCS would walk around town and you would give them sweets in a chance to gain an item! It was cool because it could be anything that might be considered candy, even things like grapes! (like when you get egg salad while trick or treating...)

Also you could buy masks to put on that would make you look like an enemy mob! I forgot how you got these but it was funny to be seen walking around as a Ghast or Banshee!

Come on blizzard im counting on you to best FFXI on EVERYTHING!!!

FFXI also had winter(Christmas) and summer(Asian holiday forgot name, sorry) and sprnig(Easter) events.

Would be cool but I'm not expecting anything so soon after release...

Summer was Summerfest of all things. Also FFXI did a halloween event just about the NA launch, and since this game is so much bigger already then FFXI at its launch I wouldn't be surprised. That does remind me though, I want to see what SE cooks up this year.

As for something in WoW, it would certainly be nice.

Edit: And that event for summerfest where you teamed up... so fun. Really a reason to keep playing FFXI is the events, SE does do a good job thinking these things up. That was the first time i've never been afraid of dieing in FFXI, and probably the last lol.

Events are neat yes I agree, and am sure there will be some. But I think it is rude to try and push the idea in the naming of besting another game. Don't hold FFXI and WoW up and compare them, they are vastly different games on a lot of levels, and both have great points about them.

Maybe there will be some special event items that will be rare and never exist ever again?

Almost all MMORPGs do a fun event during the holiday's. I would be dissapointed if WoW skipped out.

I used to play FFXI and the events definately added a nice element to the overall (sometimes monotonous) gameplay. But I dont think any MMORPG does Events like Ragnarok Online. Double Item drops, random spawns in the cities during halloween, christmas hat and stocking quests, RO is definately a forerunner for most creative events.

I would definately like Blizzard to whip something up for Xmass, but as said earlier, it is pretty soon after the public release and I dont want to get my hopes up. ... but man get my rogue in a Santa hat.. that just reeks of kewl..lol hehe..
