Honorable/Dishonorable KillsFollow

Now, i'm not playing yet because i ordered a new graphics card and i'm waiting for it to get here.

I've been reading up about the game though. Here's my concern:

This honor system with regards to pvp. It says on the WoW website that killing someone lower level than you will be considered a dishonorable kill. This can lead ultimately to a nasty consequence.

What concerns me is that it doesn't state if it matters or not who attacked first. If lower level players insist on attacking me, am i supposed to run away or die to avoid dishonor, or can i defend myself without paying this dishonor consequence?

From what I understand those 2 issue's where presented to Blizzard near the end of CB and during OB. They mentioned that before the final patch which they released during open beta the honor system didn't mean anything because it only tracked if you killed a lower or higher level, and even then it was buggy.

As of the last patch the system was supposedly fully implemented.


I am pretty sure (as it only makes logical sense) that they in fact corrected it to where if the lower level attacks you first you can squash him into the ground. At the moment i'm one of the low levels, and because I don't want to deal with death just yet I can't say for sure.
