How do you like engineering so far? I have a new rogue character, on a PvP character, and I was debating on if to go leatherworking/skinning or engineering/mining.

Leatherworking/skinning I'd be able to make my own gear ofcourse, and armor patches.

But for a PvP rogue, I heard engineering/mining was good, because I could make bombs that stun opponents. And I could make lockec boxes to work up my lockpicking skills on.

What do you think? ;)

Mechanical Squirrel:
1x Copper Modulator
1x Handful of Copper Bolts
1x Copper Bar
2x Malachite

Kill Zhevra Chargers.

They are worthless and look like an erect *****. If someone is running around with one of those in Ashenvale, I am going to beat its ***.

Badger humor is not 12 year old humor. If you don't get or understand the humor inherent in the badger, it's not our fault, it shows a lack of fun on your part.

And George W., you must get on Illidan and make me some scopes and googles.

Do it now!!

please Smiley: grin

BTW, what are these goggles and scopes good for? (I could look them up, but since it's the topic at hand...)

It is great. I make my own explosives, and toss them at wolves for fun when I am waiting on mail and such.

Thing about Durotan, Copper bars was going for 75silver a stack(no, not a type, silver, not copper) while i was leveling my engineering. I probally went through a good 150-200 copper bars on my way to 105.

Right now, I need lots, and lots of bronze bars, meaning I have to level my level 14 character, so I can mine tin easier, without worrying about dieing to defias/kobolds.

Now, to mass produce Bronze tubes, and put them on the Auction House to make some of my money back leveling it up (not too many engineers on Durotan it seems like, not too many bronze tubes selling)...

Not sure about the goggles, but the scope is a modification for the guns which I "Think" helps either your range or your accuracy.

Silentstrike - Level 13 Human Rogue
Isabelle - Level 14 Human Paladin

You probally won't see me on that much today, as I have places to go. I am going to create a new Alla account for my WoW toons, so I won't put them in my signature.

Flying Tiger Goggles:, 27 armor, 4 to spirit and stamina.

Scopes permanent adds damage (and higher level ones, I dont know if they add more) to your guns. Right now, I can only make +1 damage scopes.

I am putting my engineering on hold, so I can work on getting better gear, and save up for later expenses.

Catseye Goggles:

Flying Tiger Goggles:

Just some examples. Scopes add damage to ranged weapons. Goggles have a bunch of different effects.

I want the Flying Tiger for my hunter.

I'm currently at lvl 114 engineering and it's great. I find it much more interesting than blacksmithing (which I did during beta).

some points not mentioned:

~scopes can be added to bows as well as guns (for some strange, unknown reason)

~engineering requires all sorts of material, from ore to cloth to leather. So if you don't have friends to help you (or alternate gathering toons), you'll be losing money from buying off auction.

But if you're able to gather most of your items, then you can make pretty decent gross profit just selling to vendor, on certain items.

~goggles can not be worn by people without the required engineering skill. It's sad cuz those could make a pretty penny in auction otherwise. I think some other engineering items also require a minimum engineering skill to use.
