It's a conspiracy. They're all out to get me. They have secret meetings where they plot my doom.
Personally people that just run up and start hitting on a random female character scare me. I rarely ever play a female character, and if I do it is usually for reasons like you listed Kingjord. I generally like my orc, but if I hadn't of liked my look I would have clicked female because I was DEAD SET on playing an orc as my first character.
I would "hope" most that do it, do it because of immaturity. That and the lack of getting any in real life I guess. I would also like the note that immaturity knows no age, and I am not bashing on people who actually sometimes find someone of the opposite gender in game that leads into real life. Then again most people that end up in real life relationships with someone they met in a game dislike the people who randomly run up to characters and hit on them.

I've played female characters in the past. Played 3 during open beta (NE Hunter, Human Mage, Human Rogue).
Alot of guy gamers play female characters.
I had a friend that played nothing but female characters, his reasoning was:
"If I'm going to be staring at this character for hours at a time, I want to stare at something nice looking."
I'll make female characters on WoW. Any mage character I've played has always been female, not sure why I do that, just do.
