A new problemFollow

#1 Nov 24 2004 at 9:15 PM Rating: Decent
This started happening about an hour ago, I sign in, choose my character, log on to realm, everything starts loading as per normal but then the load bar gets to the end and nothing happens. Anyone else got this prob?

BTW. anyone notice how Blizzards forum login is conviniently down while all the servers are being played around with.

Tried restarting your PC? That or the world server is down.

ok, I was hoping someone would ask this... so I didn't have to start the thread. I am getting this same exact thing, but after I select character and log-in there is a long pause and then I get "World server is down." Ok. But when I go to "Change Realm" to choose a new server the server I was trying to log onto is up with a low population. WTF? is there something I'm missing? I wouldn't be going crazy if I knew the server was down and they were working on it, but it looks as if its up and I just can't log on.

We are aware that some realms are showing population information that is not in sync with the actual status. A realm might show low population, when it is in fact offline or has a higher population.

We have informed the network engineers and hope to have a status update shortly.

Clarification on this issue:
In reality, the populations for these servers are showing correctly. This issue is a connectivity issue, making it very difficult to connect to a server, so actual realm populations would be low, while attempts to connect would be very high.

Slightly different issue, but we are aware of it and are working furiously to resolve it.

If you wait (yes it can take a while, so far ten min. for me) you will get login the server once that blue bar goes all the way across.. The servers (database) are just overloaded right now.

The reason the FFXI US release was so smooth was because it came out a year after the Asia release. They had ample time to work out the kinks.

The reason you see "Low Population" is because there probably isn't a "No Population" message. =P

Same thing happened to me. when I got through to customer service, there answer to me is that the server had reach its maximun capacity so you either have to wait tell some ppl logout or start another character on a low population server.
