Humm... New ProblemFollow

ok i had this game at midnight on the 23rd so i got is supper early, and i had beta so i did not have to load this one.
:o) so i make a charactor.... his name is Lokii he is a gnome mage on the Destromath Server. i lvled him to 10 and loged out today the 24th. Now i try and log him on i get this message.... "A character with that name already exists"

im like WTF mate!
this happen to anyone else?

you got laged and you shut the game didn't you ?

because it happened to me and i had to tell my frend to call the gm...

some odd reason... gm never answered but after 6-7 hours I got back in...

It's a "Garbage collector" problem.

If you don't log off properly, nothing signals the server to let it know that you logged off. So - you try to log back in and it thinks you're still on. "Garbage Collectors" are computer algorithms that dump unused information from memory - in this case your character being online.

Your character is still there - don't worry. Try making a new char on the same server, then logging off and trying your main char again.

It's not a complicated problem and I'm sure Blizzard will fix it soon, along with corpse repop problems that are of a similar nature.

well there was a lot of lag.
but i did logoff correctly i took 5 min or so but i did the /logout command and just waited

after it logged out i tryed to get back on and then got the message so i did logout correct

all so i did make a new charactor just now and it did not fix the problem
