Hi guys,
First off Im not computer savvy, so bear with me. Long story short, Im logging back into server (the fated Ilian), at 'retrieving character list' and waited for about 10min for my character to come up, 'enter world' and after another 10 min, it tells me 'world server down'. Now I go back to server selection and see the server status is 'medium'....so is the server down or just so laggy it booted me out?
Checked blizz site but the 'server status' link doesnt really show status (understandable since they are adding new servers, day2 etc)..but my question is since I didnt get a queue to get in, is blizz just removing the queue so that whoever got lucky can enter kinda idea?
P.S. scary thing is after i get the 'world server down' msg, go out to general server selection, there is a field that tells you how many characters you have in a particular server, it shows i have non on ilian..........
Does the server kick you out if youre idle for X amt of time? Im contemplating not EVER loggin out...just plant myself on one of the inn chairs when i need to sleep etc

I think they want some people to change to the west coast servers so they are keeping some of the populated servers down. I'm not going to switch though as I've already got a level 15 priest that is almost 16 and don't feel like starting a new character.
Don't sweat the no characters on the server thing - that happened to me once too, but they're actually still there.
I would like to know what's going on though, this is a pretty big disappointment.

I am thinking this is their new 'solution' to the queues posts on their horrid forums (yes spank me now I waded thru that fest pool of adolescent crap)

i am geting the same thing but i am in diffrent server...
Getting the same "World Server Down" message. I dont like it but the queue was worse I think. Still says I have one character on Illidan so all is well.

i honestly didnt char cus i havent chosen a solid char yet so ive tried like 12 dif servers and getting same message on each (also takes like 10 mins to create chars)

Ive lost track of the number of times Ive tried to get in, I actually think the queues were better because it gave me some sense of security that if I wait 2 hours I WILL get in ;)
It has been 2 hours now since the fated time I logged off to try cosmos...that'll teach me!
Right now still gonna try to get in but looks like its gonna get worse since ppl are getting off work now, so might have to spend some quality time with wife :)

I have been on Archimonde and played all night last night with "some" problems, but not as bad as others... I've been trying to log on today and there is a smaller queue, my character pops up, i go to enter world and the loading screen comes up and loads. But then i get the world server down error.
If I still get the queue, doesn't it mean theres people on the server?
I just tried again and now the queue doesn't even come up... it's going straight to the "retrieving character list" and sitting there for a while...
