I really think the whole localized servers thing is crappy. Especially when they are now hypocritically telling people on East/Central servers to try to make characters on Mountain/West servers due to high population. Latency my behind. I thought i'd help you Europeans desperate to get in the US retail of WoW. All you need to do is look up and find an australian address, zip code, and phone number. Then use your credit card info and name. Simple as that people. Europeans from multiple countries have said this has worked for them. Check out this thread from the VN boards for proof.

P.S Also, if you have trouble finding aussie info to use, in one of the posts on the thread there is a guy that gives a link to a whitepages website where you can pick out one. I didn't link that because you should have to do a little work afterall. :)
From us in North America who think you got a raw deal, i hope this helps you and welcome to WoW retail!

I'm going to assume this will work equally well for any Asians, Africans, South Americans, Arcticans and Antarcticans trying to get into the game as well...

With my primary emphasis on Asians, of course.

It will work, won't it?

Yep i can confirm it works, I live in the UK and I registered my address as being the British embassy in new york (looked up the address and phone number online). Then I used my visa electron for payment options (still using that US post code) and it all worked fine from there.

So non-us resident no game time card and no credit card but still able to play :D

Isnt this illegal? You are like using someone else address without their consent or knowledge of it.

maybe so but I surely doubt anything would ever come of it, If you provide as much real info (ie your name and email address) then nothing could come of it. I had to do this for FFXI and I even rang them up and asked before i did it and they said sure that should get you signed up and playing.

personally i don't think going to US retail is good at all...latency? well...let european retail come out and that will only be a bad dream. not only that, us server's are crowded with boys (age and mentality) so if you want to play with mature players go wait for the EU servers.

Much thanks from Norway here as well..
I will try this out when I get the game..
And as far as using someones address, its sure not very good, but you can always change "Black Diamond Stree 14" (where I live in FFXI) to something other like 1023..
Has anyone found out that it dont work just using your a US address?

I'm not sure it will work for asians. I'm only sure about Europeans. Also, from what info i've gathered, Brits don't need to use an aussie address, it has something to do with thier credit card type. They have been able to use an american address. All other european countries seem to need to use an aussie address to get it to work. It all has something to do with the credit card company.

I wouldn't worry about getting in trouble for using a fake address. You will still beusing your own credit card information so i don't see any country on earth that would prosicute someone for using a fake address to play an online game. :)

heh

One day when Blizzard's accounting department checks address info (IF they ever do so), they're gonna find 19 accounts registered to my address. :P

My Euro friends (mainly in the UK with a couple Dutchmen) just ordered the boxes (from Amazon.com) and had them shipped to my house. Then all I had to do was email them the CD key. They used my address to sign up and voila!

But Drefsab, your idea was VERY good. Using some poor schmo's address seems kinda shady to me (though I've never had issues with shady. Don't hate the player....and all that). Using your country's embassy address seems a lot more legit to me.
