Are you frustrated about spending money on a game that forces you into a line to play? Are you constantly reaching for tissues because Blizzard has betrayed you? Are you overweight and you have nothing better to do than to complain on the forums when you cant play your game you've been thinking about for a month?

I pitty you, yes. Here you all are, complaining already on the first day on something that was, in no doubt expected. During the beta test the total server populations have reached 500,000. That is the most reached by any MMORPG up to date. With that knowledge in mind, I would have to say ALL MMORPGs have a higher population once released than its beta testing launch. Its sad that you would actually complain about having, already, this love connection with a character you've only spent hours playing. I, for one, sympathize the Forum moderators for having to reply over and over to posts filled with stupidity, having the answers that most customers just refuse, arguing just because they can, most likely depressed and filled with much hate in the world. These are the people who take the time to post rediculous complaints in the forums of games. I have a message for you. Get your fat *** off that chair (if you can) and go exercise, play football. Maybe when you come back the game will be ready.

You did not by a game thinking that it would be flawless did you? If you did, that just shows how ignorant you are and shouldnt even deserve to complain. There is no such thing as a flawless game, specially at the start. I know theres a possibility of people replying to this post with names of games that they think are flawless even at initiation. The reality is, it wasn't. In fact, to counter this, i will list the names of games that had in fact, major flaws in their work:

<Insert all game names here>

And this concludes my reply and relief of frustration to those complainers who wish to go an extra mile in annoying people like me.

EDIT: Someone who shares the same ideas as this, please post it on the official forums of WoW For me :).

I'm just going to say....I'm not going to take sides.
Some people complain too much, but, you have to remember, we are paying $15 a month and we just paid $50+ for a game.
If your electricity went out during a thunderstorm would it not be undestandable? Of course it would. Would you still be pissed. Yes. Would you expect to pay for electricity you can't use. No.

Yes yes the first month is "free".
According to my reciept I just paid $50 for it since I know 4 CDs does not cost $50 to create.

Its our right to complain and ***** and moan.
But then some people do complain and ***** and moan TOO much.

1. Nobody is forcing you to read complain posts. You don't really have much of a reason to be whining about this.

2. 500,000, while extremely impressive for a beta test, is not an all-time record for MMORPGs. Ragnarok Online is insanely popular in Asia, and FFXI hit 1 million a couple of months ago. Not saying those games are better (have played both, I feel very much the opposite), I'm just pointing out that you've got some factual errors.

3. I'm sure you or someone like you is going to rate this post down, but such is the price for telling the truth. If you don't like what you're reading, don't read it. How about you make a thread about something constructive instead of whining about other people whining?

I completely understand your points, but all that should have been expected. You didnt pay 50 bucks on the game, but you payed 50 bucks on a game with the knowledge that your bound to run into some frustration and problems ON THE FIRST DAY. Its rediculous people are demanding an extension on their free month so they can earn what time they've lost, how much time did they exactly lose? A few hours? Knowing this would happen I chose not to buy the game, my brother thought otherwise, so I laugh at him every time he slams the wall in frustration.

"500,000, while extremely impressive for a beta test, is not an all-time record for MMORPGs."

500,000 has been the highest amount of people during beta test of any MMORPG to be online all at once.

I don't care who rates this thread, thats not the point behind it. The threads of whiners i've been reading were quite entertaining, to be honest.

I haven't seen anyone asking for a refund. That said, I actually got one...and used it to buy a copy of WoW that worked. Go figure.
#6 Nov 23 2004 at 11:05 PM Rating: Decent
Well to tell you the truth I wasn't expecting to run into server queue problems.
I kinda figured it would be like HL2 was. Everyone bought it at midnight and killed the servers and couldn't play but by the time I got the game the next night it worked fine.

I mean its actually a couple of hours from the 2nd day :P

EDIT: And just so you know there are alot of games that worked perfectly their first day even though you clearly <Inserted all games here>
Jedi Knight has one patch, its for joystick, nobody uses a joystick for FPS games anyway :P
Half-Life was bug free.
Blue Shift hasn't had a single patch, doesn't need one.

I'm sure there are more but I probably don't own them and this isn't a thread about them anyway :D
Its just a "so you know, there is such a thing as nearly perfect games"

"there is such a thing as nearly perfect games"

Of course.

A reply to Jedi Knights and such..

When things happen like, falling through to the 'underworld' or dying unexpectedly to unknown causes, animation distortions, things freaky like that, those are considered bugs. Just to let you take those into consideration before stating such things.

but the thing about it is this.. you have a cdkey go put the complaint threads up at the bnet wow forum.. this isnt the place to set up a wine factory so to speak.

this game just started.. called growing pains. no matter how well thought out a game is.. when it goes live its "well bob, it looked good on paper."

wait till next week when the game cards go on sale then you will see the que's and crap you just thought you saw. In a month everything will work its way out. Oh wait.. a month. isnt that a FREE month bnet gave you. *rolls his eyes* go figure.

and 15 a month is nice when you actually pay for it. even if you signed up paying a month or more from the get go, you still use up the free month first. so after a month come back then post your complaints.. but do so on the bnet wow forums. Lets leave this forum for the good stuff.

I think you were looking for the Offical WoW forums, there is about 20-30 threads on the queue there. Personally you want to know what I did when I found out Illidan (server that the Kharma Trolls are on) had a 700+ queue.

I went to a different server so I could learn the game while I waited for everything to start calming down. Tomorrow by the time I log in there will probably be a couple more servers, and the MASS of new people will start to calm down. Then they will raise the cap a little bit and I will probably have no problem getting into Illidan.

If there is still a problem i'll go back to Hellscream server and simply wait until it clears up more. Sure i'll be behind, but that just means i'll need to catch up.

Isn't the high number of FFXI subscriber numbers including mules too?

ouch. Actually I think they get their head count by Accounts and not characters.

FFXI has a cap as well though. I once got to watch what happens when I was bored one day. Every time the server got within 1-2 people away from 5k the server pop dropped by almost 100. Then it would slowly pick back up to 5k and once again 100 people would vanish.

I watched it do that for about 15 minutes before I was firm enough to believe (in my own opinion) that some if not all the servers in FFXI have a cap of 5k where the server kicks the top 100 inactive players.

Yep yep, Jedi Knight had none of this. No bugs whatsoever.

Everybody needs to calm down. Yes the game has a few problems, Yes we all paid 50+ bucks for it, But, we all are getting a "Free" month. So what are you complaining about? They will get it all fixed, they are too smart not too. But I am sure they will get it fixed well before your free month is up. Did you ever think that they may have given us the free month anticipating that these problems would arise? If you are still mad then go play Super Mario Brothers or something, I hear you can get that for less than 5 bucks these days. And you wont have to worry about lag, or queue problems or whatever other problems you will most likely b**ch about next week. It just makes me mad that people will waste time to sit here and complain about things that everyone else in the game is having. I have one simple word of advice for you.... ((((( WAIT ))))). As simple as that. It WILL be fixxed, It always is. If you dont like it, then tell Luigi I said hello. Have a nice day =+).

Thank you for the very appropriate reply, Mjolinir. I'm sorry if I've offended you in any way through my post, self esteem is important to those who have the least of it.
