Mage's Professions.Follow

Hey.

Played a NE Hunter in OB, but decided to switch to mage for retail.

I got my talents down and all..

But one thing is still in the air...Professions.

A lot of mages went mining/engineering and quite frankly, I don't see why.

Mining/engineering doesn't seem to benefit the mage all that much - i can only see the goggles might help and the devices in pvp...

But other than that, i figured tailoring or alchemy would be better.

Am i missing something?

Anything besides leatherworking and blacksmithing will do the mage good.

Right...I can see how anything other than blacksmithing/leatherworking can help the mage...

But is there a specific reason people go mining/engineering that I'm not seeing?

Is it for the hats and various devices that can be used in Pvp?

A lot of people, not just mages, like engineering for the little tools that only they can use.

Most mages I know though go with alchemy/herbalism for the ability to heal themselves in fights. Its always a personal preferance though.

Another common setup is tailoring and enchanting, so that you can make and enhance your own armor, as well as craft your own wands (although mages do get a pretty sweet wand from a class-exclusive quest)

They get the engineering for the stunning bombs so they can kite better.

Note: ididn't mean stunning as a form of appealing.
