1. Be as helpful as possible - Being a great player that is helpful will take you a long way. People remember the good ones just as well as the bad ones.
2. Explore and document - Found something new that no one else has written about? Notice that a spell works really well in comboniation with another? Share!
3. Take time to pay attention. Watch the mobs around you, techniques for gold making, crafting recipes that are worthwhile, etc. Keep your notes and then share them with all of us.
In general, share non-redundant info with us on the board. Use this board to make the game better and rate-ups are sure to follow. Use the board to *****, complain, and whine and I will personally rate you down into obscurity.
