Rogues certainly own warriors < level 40...

But I'm not so sure that's still the case when you get closer to level 60, when warriors have 6000 armor with 40 block shields and maxxed out damage reduction, while rogues are still stuck with closer to 1000 armor. Warriors can deal significantly increased damage with the skills they typically get in the 40s and 50s, but that may be true of rogues too.

Has anyone played both a 55+ warrior and 55+ rogue?

actually im just going off my d2 experience.
barbs owned everything pre occy soj.
barb= warrior
rogue = assassin.

i played open beta and got to lvl 15 with almost all classes.
so im not a judge i was just bored.

This is not Diablo 2... the classes are nothing like the classes in D2, and combat is vastly different from D2.

Your assertions are whacked, my friend.

As of the close of Open Beta, warriors were nerfed to near uselessness. Rogues are freaking meat grinders that can chew through any armor.

Now, post-retail, they may have reset the warrior. That remains to be seen. You could be dead on, but don't count your chickens before they hatch.

(Note: Not a flame! Just my observations, so far.)

hmm Rogue vs Warrior

If warrior sees the rogue before the fight starts then the warrior has a good chance at winning

If the rogue starts the fight then the rogue has a good chance of winning

i really do not know myslef but i will soon find out.
i tweak the **** out of characters finding what is the best.
exactly like in d2 where everyone thought barb was newb
till the died at my feet.

as far as ive seen warriors cause way to much damage for a
rogues to handle.
rogues are more hit when not expecting taking the advantage.
#8 Nov 23 2004 at 5:22 AM Rating: Decent
well if the rouge starts the fight he only gets 1 hit off before
i turn around to retalite.
most the rouge battles i saw u could tell they were using the keyboard cause they turned around sooo slow.
if u got fast reflexes u wont be getting hit more than once.
also stealth is easily countered.
make em visible =)

Lol, Warriors a no brainer mate.
Rogue takes some serious skills, you will be crapping your pants when we hunt you, you big lumix with all your shiney noisey, heavy armor.
You want enemies like me to teach you how to play PvP.
When i have beaten you down and stolen your lollipop, i will slowly consume you for extra health regen.

Bring it on ...!!!!

I think their pretty fair off, just has to go with skill and how the battle starts really. A good Rogue would wait for their chance, Stealth and Ambush, (perhaps with poison on their weapon, perhaps with not.) Vanish, completely disappearing, gouging to stun, backstabbing, maybe a kidney shot placed in for fun or skill.

Of course theres a good chance that a Warrior with Iron Will can protect themselves against a gouge or two.. Maybe upon seeing the Rogue, get a good placed Disarm in to eliminate the ability to Backstab for a amount of time.. Or maybe the Warrior see's the Rogue first, gets in close with a Charge.

It all depends on the skill.
In mass PVP battles, my bets on the warrior.
In small scaled battles, my bets on the rogue.

*whispers* And I got a good guess in large scaled battles, the two would be too busy going after the nukers to even care about each other for the first duration of the fight.

um... most assassins are Trap assassins, and if they are not why would they ever use soj and occy? Occy is sorceress only item -_-. Plus, Heart of the oak is better than occy. Finnaly, a assassin using tele kick -> chaos ww can beat a barb, simply by staying out of range, and teleing in and out. A trap assassin can beat hm by uping damage on traps, unless he maxes resist and absorbtion.

yep i dueled A LOT in D2. If your on east server Ill duel you with my paladin sometime.

Actually,
i owned a rogue as a paladin and i only had 1 lvl on him.

this is high 20's im talking and yes he got the first hit, i just resisited most of his attacks or took minor dmg from them, then stun , seal of crusader, release, seal of command + fast 2h axe (with good dmg) and it was over fast... not saying rogues suck i had a lvl 17 one i loved , just really depends on the player.

Rogues would own a warrior, beacuse i was looking on the class talents or w/e for the rogues im pretty sure they get that one talent that can remove armor and stuff, so there goes some of that shiny armor that warriors hold onto so very dearly

Rogues are one of the ultimate PvP classes. Start out with Backstab or Ambush thats takes off a very good chunk of health. Then use evasion and slice 'n dice with sinister strike and build up points. Let lose with a Gouge, sneak behind him, and ambush or backstab him again. And when us rogues apply deadly poisen...well I don't even want to go there. And we have a BUNCH of other awesome moves like Kidney shot, garrote which deals excellent DoT, Rupture which, again, deals excellent DoT, Expose armor, Eviscerate, and a bunch of other cool moves.

So before you go saying that warriors can slaughter rogues, just think about it first.

it all depends on the person behind the keyboard... and the situation also alters a lot the outcome. Lv is a mayor aspect to analize... even if warrior and rogue ar the same lv the powerfull abilities they get are open in diferent lvs, so a rogue may have a good advantaje at some lv and the warrior may have the uper hand on other lvs... And then u have talents... which may lead to a million outcomes... IMO the most important aspect is the person behind the keyboard... i got killed a couple of times by warriors beacause they made good use of skills like handtring to keep me slow, or changing to defensive stance when i was about to do evis... so pvp is about learning what to do and when. NOT ABOUT HAVING THE UBBER CLASS...
When people make a statement impliing the undeniable truth they are most likely wrong... the number of variables are to big to have a simple solution...
sorry about my english... heheheheh im from brasil :)
hope i helped...

1k armor at level 60? How absurd. I had well over 1500 armor at level 44 with my Rogue. Check the sig. (d'oh, has alla killed the old player files on here?)

Although a Warrior is definitely more formidable as soon as they can equip plate, they can be taken down by a similar level rogue who can get the jump on the warrior and uses a combat spec build and dual wields maces for the decent stun capiability.

Meh, I don't know crap, I'm going to play my Warrior in retail now.
