Racial Traits Question?Follow

#1 Nov 23 2004 at 1:19 AM Rating: Decent
I'm curious as to how much dmg the dwarf racial trait for guns is. Since it just says +5 to guns, not like +5% or anything. Is +5 guns as a racial trait a noticable increase in dmg or just something very minor in comparison to say orcs racial trait +5% pet attack.

Choose what you want to stare at for hours at a time. From what I understand racial traits will not hold much weight. Please correct if I'm wrong.

Actually, your lvl decides what your skills cap at. The +5 just means it caps 5 higher than normal.

Example:
I am lvl 10 with say a cap of 25 in (Place Generic Melee Weapon Here) and yet my cap with guns is 30.

This might help a little bit in the early levels but you will reach lvl 10 pretty fast and this bonus is almost non-existant.

Were all bored waiting for the game to go live. This is probably one of the best times to ask questions.....

And there is an IRC chat here, look to your left.

you can transfer items to characters on the same faction through the mail system, you cannot however transer things from alliance to horde.

99.9% sure it is impossible for people of different factions to trade with each other. You either fight or leave each other alone.

I think if it possible, if you get a friend and are not on a pvp server, you can walk up to each other and trade normally. I think...

ARGH!! The +5 to skill works like this, folks...

You skill cap for weapons is level x5, so at level 10, your max skill is 50... unless you have a +5 racial modifier (i.e. dwarves, humans, taurens, etc). In that case, your skill cap will be 55.

So, what does that mean?

It means that you have a better chance of hitting stuff! For the purposes of that weapon, you are an 11th level character. Added hits = greater dps = faster kills = faster exp gain (especially when you consider you can kill things one level higher than normal, thus getting more exp per kill).

That's it... really. Not a HUGE difference, but for some folks it will be worth it.

P.S. As for added damage, I think damage output is based on character level, not skill. I could very well be wrong, but that's the impression I got from playing in the beta.
