Display settings for my system?Follow

I know I can run the game, that's not the issue. This system I built is only about a week old. What I'm curious about is whether I can run the game at its fullest display settings without any real lag or frame rate issues, or if the video cards just haven't caught up with the game requirements yet.

I've got a P4 3.2 with hyperthreading, a gig of RAM, and a GeForce 6800 GTO vid card.

How far can I take this game without having to deal with slowdown?

My specs are about the same, and I can run at 12x10, highest settings on everything, and 2AA/8AF set in the display console. I average about 30-40 FPS outdoors and 40-60 indoors. Setting it to 4AA/16AF had me dropping to 20-25 outdoors on occasionally, so I had to drop back the numbers a little bit to make it more acceptable to me. If you have an actual 3.2Ghz you may be able to run at 4AA/16AF, since my processor is actually a 2.6Ghz that I've overclocked to 3.1Ghz. You probably have a bigger cache and whatnot than my old chip does.

The only slowdown you'll experience is something like flying on a wyvern or loading into a new zone, because it has to load in the new texture cache. That's all of like one second though, then it goes back to being totally smooth.

Thanks for the reply :).

I haven't gotten around to overclocking my processor yet...I'm a little nervous about overclocking it since it's already got the hyperthreading, I have a Godzilla cooling mount on the damn thing, and it still gets a little warm from time to time (never warm enough to worry about, but warmer than I'm used to with previous systems).

But, sounds as though I can at least run it at near max, which is good enough for me. Was just worried I'd have to tone it down to medium or else deal with the "tick-tick-tick" frame rating due to the insane graphics I've seen out of it.
