My bear had almost as many Hitpoints as I did with my stamina gear added in. It did have a better Armor rating than I did though, almost half again as much as I did.

Ole Snowy could take the hits I tell ya. There was many a time that ole bear and I would take on a handful of critters and both come out alive.

Best I have done personally was to kill 2 mobs the same level as I was, and 1 mob a level above me. We got jumped by all three at once, while Snowy tanked two of them, I fought the third. When I was able to kill the one on me Snowy was almost dead, but still in the game, I switched to Mend Pet on her while I targetted the most wounded of the two on here, when I had just about exhausted my mana, she was back up to 3/4 health.

I then unloaded on the mob I had targetted and it quickly died before our combined damage output. Snowy then began pounding on the last mob, though at this point she was pretty beat up, I fired off my Arcane Shot, followed by my Serpent's Sting, then almost outta Mana I took her off her Growl ability and fired a Distracting Shot at the mob, and waded into the fray.

This allowed me to use Wingclip and Raptor Strike to gain aggro back from my pet and we finished the last one off with her at 1/2 health and I about the same.

So for soloing, it is very hard to beat a Hunter as in a pinch, we can take a few hits unlike most other ranged attack classes.

Personally I have a hard time with this question. I've done encounters that others can't do and I've seen some go at encounters I wouldn't really like to try.

It's true pet classes seem to have a major advantage but that is a surface appearance dependant upon who's playing them.

I played a Druid in Open Beta. I saw a 22nd level Hunter get run off by a couple spiders in a path I was running by. I stoped... Looked the situation over, buffed up and went for it and beat them both.

I was 19th level and took out 2 spiders that chewed up that "duo" of 22nd level hunter and pet...

I've taken out mobs even level with pets of their same level - hard yes but not impossible nor even a major event besides recovering afterwards.

I don't know... I guess it can be that 2 vs 1 should work better but I still don't see a hunter nuking, doting, going bear form to melee for a bit using swipe and roar, popping back to human form, clicking a healing potion, tossing regen and regrowth on themselves, flipping back to bear -- 2 times through this cycle and finishing off 2 mobs 2 levels higher than them the way I did it.

I've taken down up to 5 mobs 3 levels lower than me in 1 fight as a druid and trust me, druids are NOT rated the master soloists in the game -- Warlocks and Hunters are rated better at this.

I've seen a priest take out 4 ghosts at 1 time that I wouldn't like to try and a warrior my level solo out a mob I wouldn't have really wanted to try at all (and I'm a bit on the "hell, it's only a CR away" type of person).

Your skill with your char and your style of play will make or break you no matter what class you chose to play and what you go after, monster wise, will also determine how you face the encounter.

I serously doubt that you'll find many hunters rushing into situations where melee debuffs and dots are heavily being used but you'll find casters doing these with fair frequency and ease -- something about 10 to 20 min of reduced armor, slowed attacks, etc... tends to take a lot of the "I can do it!" out of 'em for some odd reason.

Best bet, pick a class you like that'll match your style of play and go for it. There really is no "best class" out there. Just some have advantages in certain situations whereas others are better of in different ones.

Well equipped warrior I would think would be up there. Course you have to be really well equipped.

for pure PVE? i would go with troll hunter imho best pve in the game the racialtrait beast slayer helps at ealry to mid levels so do the other racial traits. your pet will alo be devestaing and there is talents for hunters geared for killing beats and tracking them too as well abilties.

Best PvE leveler is the rogue. They kill so insanely fast and have no downtime if they take up first aid. Its not as easy as having a pet tank and you shoot it for a while... it does require a little more skill but as far as leveling goes and cutting through mobs the rogue is the best. Rogues can kill things alot higher then them when others dont even have a chance... I played with a rogue buddy of mine and he made it to level 60 in 15 days /played while i was still at 58 with my warlock and at 17 days /played... if your talking easiest solo classes yes the hunter and warlock are the easiest but if you mean most effective and fastest... well that is the rogue.

I would honestly have to say warlock. The only real down time I had was when I somehow managed to gather 2 or 3 links. Mana really isnt that big of an issue since we have life tap, and since we can make our own health stones. Besides when you have a gaint blueberry tanking for you what could be better :D

Rogues I have to admit are probably the most fun to PVE with....unfortunately they made first aid virtually useless in combat now, but it is great to use to get health back after a battle.

That's why I'm planning to go Rogue/Herbalism/Alchemy...either that, or Rogue/Mining/Engineering, for the bombs.

I'm sorry but I gotta laugh at that. First off, good luck solo'ing continuously post lvl 40 with a rogue. You just don't have the armor for it. And secondly, 60 in 15 days you say? The guy who won the Alienware computer from Blizzard didn't even break that barrier and he was the HIGHEST level of everyone.

I'm sorry but that's the most absurd post I've ever seen. You're either a liar or a buffoon.

he said 15 days /played as in his game timer was 15 total days playing the game, 360 hours. you really shouldnt insult people when you misread what they said.

I didn't misread anything, I know what he said and it still doesn't hold up water. Not one bit. Maybe you shouldn't jump to conclusions? Mmmmmkay?

The fact remains that the implied time table is nuts. Absolutely nuts. Any CB tester will tell you that you're out of your fricking mind.

Kthxbye ; )
