Found this on Gamespy. It's a review by some guy calling himself "the Resident Cynic". I dont' spent much time at Gamespy, so don't know if this guy knows what he's talking about or not, but he wrote an interesting review on WoW.

The review can be found here.

What I liked about the review, admits that WoW doesn't push the boundries of the genre, doesn't push the boundries of the computer, but it's just a fun game.

In the end, isn't that all we really care about..

that it's a fun game.

i agree w/ the guy mostly but IMO the point of innovations and pushing boundaries are just ways to make the game fun. if players are having tons of fun w/o them, then why spending the extra time and money?
his review is only on the stress test version of the game. he was only lvl15 when the test ended, he hasnt got to see much of the game, tho he pointed out the problem w/ the questing system. its either 1. go here and talk to person x. 2. collect 3x and 5y, return to person x. 3. kill person y and take y's belonging(head mostly) to person x.

While there are minor points I disagree with, I think he described the overall picture fairly well.

(And what exactly DOES make a game have good graphics? If the artwork is beautiful and fits together seamlessly, I could care less whether or not 8 million polygons are floating around at 60 fps just for the sake of being able to say that the game does that.)

Good graphics is in the eye of the beholder anyways. It's a subjective thing.

Some people think FFXI has great graphics, some don't. Same with WoW.
