To some people $400 dollars is nothing. If they want to buy a beta account with it, more power to them. At least they will play and test the game. As far as the people selling them, although it's wrong we don't know the circumstances behind it. Maybe they needed the money to buy food, pay the rent, fix a car, or maybe they are just greedy.

Money rules the world. Nothing can be done to stop it, and it doesn't ruin my fun, so whatever. I know I liked the money I got for my FFXI account when I quit. At least I didn't completely waste my time.

Caydiem posted on WoW forums:

"There have been some revelations from the current press tour in Europe that have caused a stir in the forums. I’d like to clarify the current situation on those subjects to dispel any misconceptions people might have.

Racial Traits, Not Racial Talents: A recent interview was posted that had some accidentally misleading wording: the word "talents" was accidentally used in a part of the interview discussing racial traits.

Weather: I apologize for the misconception given. Weather will not, unfortunately, be in for launch. However, we plan to add it at some point after launch.

Role-Playing Servers: We're sorry, but there was some miscommunication involved here. We are still discussing the possibility of having a role-playing server at launch, but no decision has been made as of yet.

New Skill System: There will be more than money involved in acquiring skills. For example, quests will introduce certain new skills and tiers.

I apologize for any confusion that was caused."

Ok, what the hell !?! Different Bliz employees saying different things. Anyone else find this strange? And no weather in the game at release? I understand adding in stuff after release, but I never expected weather to be "end game" content, ROFL.

I don't find it strange.

Remember, that original interview was from a german website, so it shouldn't be surprising that there was some mistranlations, mis-communicated ideas.

From the clarification posted on the WoW forums, that's what it seems happened. Either the interviewer misinterpreted, or there was some mistranslation done.

edit: as for the weather...

What's more important? That the talents are in there and the pets work right, or that there's weather effects? I'd rather have them working on finishing the classes, implementing racial traits, etc.. then working on weather.

That can always be patched in later.

After rereading the interview, I found something I didn't like:

Quote:
worldofwar.de: Any examples for PvP rewards?
Chris Sigaty:The idea is to make it point based. Your actions will add good or bad points to your individual reputation or your faction. With enough points you can get certain titles like Horde Slayer or Defender of the Alliance or Hero of the Eastern Kingdom. People with those titles will get the opportunity to reach instances that are not open for people without a title. Those title will also give you the possibility to enter houses with special vendors who sell very rare and powerful stuff.

I don't like that I have to PvP to get access to "special vendors who sell rare and powerful stuff".

It seems to me thats something that is being implemented to try to get people to PvP. UO did the same thing to get more people to go to the PvP facet, they created items that were only available there.

I don't like this. I should be able to have access to anything that someone that PvPs has access to.

In a way that's not fair to the PvE people.

I think the points will be earned when it comes to Battlefields (Which is similar to Ballista), Seoman. It is a novel idea but I'm still waiting to see how it all works together. Prehaps the special items they give out will only be worthwhile when pvping rather then pveing. *shrugs* Lets trust they know how to do this system well without alienating some of their subscribers.

worldofwar.de:How many characters are allowed for one account? Can the characters be distributed on different servers, e.g. 4 on FvF and 4 on PvE?
Chris Sigaty:10. You can have 10 characters on different realms or all on one server. However if you decide to play Horde with your character on a realm, you will not be able to play Alliance also on this realm. This will be done to prevent players to switch sides if one faction is stronger then the other on this realm.

Remember this?

Offical word from Eno, the lead designer:

Quote:
On the PvP servers, we will be enforcing that you can only make characters on the Horde or the Alliance.

On normal servers, you can freely make characters on either side.

Hmmm, looks like this interview is not really helping us with info and all since there seems to be half truths and mistranslation all over. I say we burn it and never remember it again. Then again, fire is my solution to everything. *starts a fire in a corner*

"Half Truths"? It's called "developing the game" Redmoon. Changes are made. Things are tweaked. This is why Blizzard can never say anything. "Hey, 5 months ago you said blah blah blah, and now, you say yadda yadda yadda! I DEMAND REPARATIONS!"

I would agree with you if I didn't look at the date of the interview...and it was 2 days ago. Also, by half truths I mean statements that does provide information but only information half given that causes confusion. Lets not go defensive, bro. Even I stated that this was probably due to poor translation but if anything its because of the site of the interview, not the person that was being interviewed.
