I got into beta today. Yeah for me!
But im dling the game and man... its taken all day already. Now my connection has dropped to 2 kb... i have my theories, and many things are tipping me off to the problems... so anyway, looks like tomarrow ill have another day of dling.
I cant wait to get in... this is torture!

You should have tried downloading it the day of the patch with everyone else. Grats on getting in though.
Only the exceptions can be exceptional.
If you have a firewall up, disable it. Turning off the XP firewall raised my download rate 10 times.

My theory is either my wireless router which may or may not be the culprit... or the program theyre testing for download. The reason i say that is if i put it on "modem" i can peak out at 160 kb, but is i put it on "cable/dsl fast" i peak at 50 kb. something is a lil screwy.
Those two numbers are if everything is going ok. today i havent been able to get past 17 kb on any option.

From what I understand the setting is for your uploads. So if you have it set at modem, you are downloading faster than you are uploading.
Finally got it dled. Reading the faq about BitTorrent, yes the router would be the problem if certain ports are closed. Since i dont know how exactly to open up ports, nor am i going to spend the time to find out... i took my pc to my cable modem instead and hooked it up directly. It seemed to help a little but not much...
So yep. installing now. Hope to get in soon. :)
