FFXI vs. WoWFollow

Meh, I'm still kinda paranoid from that experience. No biggy, if I'm wrong on something I really don't mind when I'm called out on it.

Can't really argue with that, CD's get pirated in a day. Now a days Cartridges arent hard as it seems, but since i've never heard of any iso's for any gamecube games it's probably a much slower process.

One question I have to those who seem to love WoW so much. There is a picture on Gamespot.com (Never the greatest picture takers) that shows a character on what appears to be the FFXI equivalent to an airship. The thing that threw me is the ropes going up to the ballon part were 2D (as in they were like paper). Is this how alot of little things are in WoW?

Not thinking of converting or anything, but I would like to believe that something like that was just a filler or dumbed down graphics. WoW is good in its own respects.

graphics is quite nice in my oppinion.. I must admit that the cities and scenery is beautiful..

Its actually the animation that is quite terrible (combat animation, to be specific..)

Lets not forget that FFXI has its far share of paper thin things such as armor ;)

As for how this is done when it comes to the little things, I'm not too sure. I honestly never noticed when I stress tested.

By the way, you might as well check out the open beta if you haven't tried the stress test or closed beta. Who knows, you might like WoW. *wink wink*

By the way, FFmania, what is it about the animation that you do not like? Granted the combat animation is funny to watch but just because the characters act all silly about it. I love how the Night elves move around in a samurai pose with a 2 handed sword. Classic ;)

Just wanted to add that no tarutaru panic animation can beat the Night Elf Micheal Jackson dance. The pelvic thrust alone have killed many tarus!

Edited for added statement: Yep, seems like WoW does use the paper thin thing a bit of times, like an abomination's chains. *shrugs* Just one of the many ways to cut down on eating memory.

COol..Always wanted to be like a samurai, but sad to say that ffxi didnt give me a chance, because SAMs, are one of the jobs where you have to wait days to get a party in higher levels..

eh..redmoonxl, do you have screens of the NEs doing that stance?? How do the human's stance look like??

Its a site full of WoW beta movies, some old and some recent. Download the movie "Bucho: 4Tehwin". In the movie, it shows the person that made the movie fight a NE near a cave with teeth (I'd say around midway through the movie) and it gives you an idea how it looks like. Me thinks the NE was a warrior.

Don't frt about waiting for exp parties at higher levels! EVERYONE has to wait for hours on end! yea, it's so much fun!. :)

RDM63 and I can go days without getting a party... Sometimes even a week or two. >< On top of that level grinding, I hate it. ><
I'm looking forward to WoW, but i'm not sure if I want it because of the Faction vs Faction thing. Is this like all out PvP, because I hate being randomly killed...

PvP is optional when it comes to WoW as long as you stay in the PvE server. PvP server is open FvF in contested zones. I would advise giving the open beta a try since it appears that it will not be too long before that goes. Try keeping an eye on that ;)

Not a great pic, particularly the pose, but this is two night elf males dancing. I only took the pic because they were perfectly in synch and it was scaring me.

BTW, human males aren't a whole lot better in the pelvic thrust department, with their Travolta disco-era dance.

I was a lvl 54 sam in FF and finding groups sucked. after hours of sitting when you finally got one most of the people didnt know what you did so they were like you tank :P The 2d stuff is done so no matter which side you see it from it looks like a wire/chain. Hmm should we really be talking about micheal jackson pelvic thrusting and tarus in the same sentence? I thought he was under investigation for that ;)

Thats "graphics suck compared to FFXI" and the way thats a fact is because Blizzard already said it themselves the graphics would be real. They would be more cartoonish and we all know they can never be better then realistic. So yea, thats fact not opinion when you have WoW's company saying their not using the best graphics engine but rather going for more colorful and playful. So know your stuff before saying its not a fact.

Also Im done argueing for this schit, cuz the bottom line is I've already played FFXI and going to play WoW so whichever is better does not matter. THATS opinions...your choice of games and which is better.

I must be the only one then who thinks the FF graphics are far from realistic. Grainy yes. blurry, at times. Bland, pretty much.

ffxi's graphics is definitely more realistic than WoW's graphics, but i find WoW's graphics more beautiful and pleasant^^

You're not the only one.

I have yet to see what is so special about FFXI graphics. They aren't anything better then the 2D version of Ultima Online.

yeah thats the thing with graphics, no matter how realistic they are if they dont have like a certain sort of life or style to them then they still arent good.

How can WoW's graphics be realistic?

EQ2 Graphics is realistic, but i dont like it..i prefer WoW's, although its like a cartoon..
