to keep the models correct you're best off doing the old itemcache.wdb hack (I'm kind of surprised no one has brought this up yet). i knew of a really good tutorial but the page went down... you'll need a hex editor and a browser open to allakhazam's item database.

let's say you have a mooncloth robe and want to make it look like dreadmist. open up itemcache.wdb in the hex editor and search for mooncloth robe. you'll see it in text about 4 times, followed by a period and 2 characters. (something like aB or '! or whathaveyou)

search for dreadmist robe on allakhazam and open up the XML link... go down to <displayinfo> and copy that value. open up the *first* character in the hex editor (for example the a in aB) and change the value there to the displayinfo value from allakhazam (mooncloth robe is 30824, dreadmist robe would now be 29792). save, open up WoW, and your mooncloth robe will look like a dreadmist 100%. repeat for shoulders, belt, etc. etc.

assuming the slot is compatible this is kind of an easier way to switch models for equipment... you don't have to worry about missing textures, etc. of course it's limited by the equipment type; you can't make a 1h dagger look like a 2h axe. i know my directions suck; I'll go into more detail if needs be.

erm im a bit confused i would apreciate if you could message me on aim: Ektrmax or give me your AIM or just post a reply with more details like where i can get the hex editor =]. also is that legal? i dont want to get banned because of it =(

About the complete nude patch that Ahriana posted on the bottom of page 14:

For the Night Elf and Human nude patches, is that your work or Sandrae's? Just curious, thanks

I've been using WinHex, but actually Hex Workshop works quite nicely... you want to look in the ASCII portion on the right side... look for the chest item that you want to change the look of, the name is usually written about 4 times. (basically, look for the robe or vest you're wearing now) after the 4x, there'll be a string of (usually) 2 characters after a period. Look down at the bottom left, at the 16 and 32 bit signed/unsigned. If you don't see a 5 digit number, that's identical for all 4, you're in the wrong place.

Change this value to what you found on the XML links from Allakhazam for the item you now want it to look like. <displayinfo> for a Dreadmist Robe is 29792, so change one of the values to this (they all will update). save it, and open up WoW. Your changes won't show at the character selection screen, but once you log in you should see yourself in a Dreadmist Robe.

Now, for the full set, look up every item you're wearing (belt, pants, shoes, etc.) inside itemcache.wdb, and change it's value (same as robe) for the Dreadmist piece with the corresponding value in the Allakhazam database.

As far as being legal... it's all client side so it's as legal as the nude patches I'd assume.

edit: actually some of them are a 4 digit string... as long as you're in the first slot after the period tho you're in the right place.

That's exactly where you need to be. You're looking at the value in the "Data Interpreter" window... the 16800. Double click (either the 16 or 32 bit) and change it to the value for Dreadmist Robe, hit enter and they both will update.

Save the file, log in, and your wool vest will look like a Dreadmist Robe.

I posted a comparison picture here:

Sandrae's Patch is no pubic hair, I just uploaded it again to here:

I think I need to switch to Hex Workshop... mmm context menu extensions. Plus you can save files with the trial software.

If anyone else has done the WDB route (and knows Hex infinitely better than I do), is there a cache for PC info? hairstyle/face/skin color/etc.? Seems like there would be...

Ahriana Scholar i love the work you do, you are a genious, but my quest is still unanswered. Is all there gear on? If no, is there a way where the gear can stay on but its translucent?

This is Vyviana of Medivh, my first character, who has now been reduced to checking AH prices and modeling nude patches. She's wearing everything in her inventory right now. XD

Zetan made this on page 12 i believe, so i know there is a way to do this. But how? how can you make all females gear translucent? aint nothing like killing a night elf while shes nude =)

The gear has to be off, the nude patch simple replaces the undewear image with the replacement :p

Somewere in this thread is a tool that will make most female armor translucent, which ould get annoying imo, but its there.

#719 Aug 08 2005 at 12:21 AM Rating: Default
you wouldnt happen to know where the program or patch is on this page? i sure hope its just a DL program and click a few buttons, that crap you guys do is way to difficult for me.
#720 Aug 08 2005 at 1:04 AM Rating: Default
The thing is, for that patch that makes most female armor transparent, is that it will replace the armor with the anatomically incorrect version, correct? Meaning no detail in the pelvis and chest areas.
#721 Aug 08 2005 at 1:16 AM Rating: Default
there has to be a way to make the armor transparent and have pelvis and chest atomically correct, come on guys. you guys are uber computer wiz!
#722 Aug 08 2005 at 1:42 AM Rating: Default

Really it already say's within the thread, but here are instructions since you're having trouble piecing it together.

1) Download this-> http://toogam.bespin.org/wow/wownudf2.zip

2) Extract it, and copy the 2 files to C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Data

3) Run the file wownudfm.bat from the Data folder

4) Download this-> http://12.22.230.41/MicroTech/Host/Files/Succubus2.zip

5) Extract it, and copy the Character folder to C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Data (if the folder already exists then just overwrite it)

That's it! Enjoy
#723 Aug 08 2005 at 1:49 AM Rating: Default
Varcan does that work for all females classes or just the succubus?
#724 Aug 08 2005 at 2:22 AM Rating: Default

It is for Human and Night Elf females, as well as succubus'. It is the only nude patch that allows you to see anatomically correct features through transparent armor. None of the other nude patches work with transparent armor (you just end up with featureless skin).

Steps 1-3 in my instructions are for making female specific armor items transparent.

Steps 4-5 in my instructions are for doing the nude patch that works with the transparent armor patch.
#725 Aug 08 2005 at 2:58 AM Rating: Default
Pretty sure the Orc and Troll skins made by RaziraER also work with transparent armor. I have edited the Gnome and Scourge ones myself so far for my own use and am working on Dwarf tomorrow. It's not too hard after the real skinners have made the nude torso and pelvis pieces to just combine them with the full skins and get ones that work with transparent armor. And the guy is right, the transparent armor gets old after a while, but it's easy enough to just copy the items folder to a temporary directory when you don't want it and have not made changes to any other items.

Edit:
And nice troll in Full Felheart... but having him equiping Anathema aswell... almost makes me jealous since I want that staff so bad myself. Stupid Class: Priest part is such torture.

CRAP

Ahriana: Thanks alot for the nude patch, but i had to deinstall it again, cause i was getting errors... file was blp.cpp and the error was because of "filesize", so i can only assume its because of the nude skins...

really sad :(

EDIT:

Assertion Failed!

App: ~/World of Warcraft/World of Warcraft.app
File: blp.cpp
Line: 694
Time: 2005-08-08 13.53.26 CEST

Assertion: filesize

btw: This doesnt happen with Sandrae's patch
