all spells with research assistants?Follow

I have several spells (adept level) that don't show up on the RA list, or a lesser level spell appears. I've only found RA in the city districts. Are there higher level or more complete spells provided by RA elsewhere? What's the criteria, other than owning adept level spells, used to populate the RA list? Thanks.

Spells only upgrade from Crafted to Dropped. So an Apprentice spell (crafted) can be researched into an Adept, and a Expert spell (crafted) into a Master spell. I had all of my 70+ spells at Expert (old adept 3) before the research assistants were put in, but they have all shown up on the RA.

So a short answer would be you need to have Journeyman - Adept, or Expert - Master.

I've seen some holes in the list for my characters and have formulated the opinion that if you upgrade a spell further upgrades for that same spell don't show up right away.

So for example you have a root spell and you research it from apprentice to adept. You won't see an option to take that same root spell from adept to master on the list.

I don;t know how long it takes for the new upgrade to reach the options list - I'm still gathering data!

Right, you wont. To get the master now you would need to get the Expert version now (before or after you get the adept, depending on your financial sittings). Then once you buy the crafted Expert, you should be able to get it researched to Master.

As for the time it varies based on the level of the spell. 1-20 level spells take a day or two, while higher level spells (70+), will take up to 30 days.

A research assistant mostly would be for players with a character over lvl 70 imo. Mostly because by the time a spell is researched, it's already replaced by an upgrade at a lower lvl.

Don't get me wrong, it's a smashingly good system, I finally managed to get a master version of some spells that I've never even seen on the broker.

Just not all that interesting for lower lvls.

And Dyadem is completely correct ofcourse, you need the former appIII or adeptIII version of a spell before it will appear on the list of the RA.

Or rather a false economy, as you'd be waiting around for days for a spell upgrade that would be obsolete in a couple of weeks' time anyway.
