Transfer players from account to account/or transfer serversFollow

#1 Aug 03 2009 at 7:09 PM Rating: Decent
Just came back to the game after a while away...

I have two accounts. I want to send two characters from my existing account to my new 2nd account. What is the fastest easiest way to do that?

And is there a way to transfer an entire account from one server which has gotten really light in traffic to a higher volume server?

I want to stay on a PVP server but dont want to play where there are hardly any people.

Any suggestions or instructions greatly appreciated

Account transfers, as I recall, cost $25 per character and you have to contact Customer Service to do it. Server transfers also cost $25 per character. Perhaps they could roll it all into one charge?

I just did a character transfer from my first account on the Everfrost Server to my second account also on the Everfrost Server, about 2 weeks ago now. Here is what I had to do.

First call SOE Customer Service. They will then instruct you to clear out all the mail from the character your about to move. No mail in mail box! Then you must clear all your stuff off of the brokerage. No stuff for sale! Then you must clear your bank. Shared stuff can remain, as any other alts still on that account will still use that stuff in the shared bank slots. But all your stuff in your own private bank, must be cleared, or put in your inventory, sold, or even your house storage slots. Yes, for some reason your house doesn't get eefected by the change. And anything in your house, and in the house storage slots, can remain. So thats what I did, I cleared my bank, and stored most of it, in my house storage. Good thing I had a house with 5 storage slots! =) Also you must buy one of those character transfer tokens from the in game SOE marketplace. You don't have to click the token, unless your going to switch servers. Just have the token in your inventory, so when SOE checks, they can see you purchased one. What I did, which seemed to speed up the process was, after I did all this, I contacted SOE thro their Customer Service chat room, and asked the CS Rep there I was chatting with, "What do I do now with my Character Transfer?" and "Have I done everything I need to do?" The CS Rep then said, he needed one minute to check, he came back to me and said, yuppers, I did everything correctly, and I should be good to go. About 5 minutes later I noticed I was switched to my other account, and walla I was done! Now my 80 SK and my 80 Inquis, can dual box till my hearts content, hehe.

Good luck in your transfer. Hope it was as smooth as mine was to switch. And I hope I answered any question you might have had about these transfers.

I have a question about this..

Was the 2 accounts created in the same name and with the same email adress ?
Would it be possible to take over an account from a friend who stopped, and transfer his character to my own account if I wanted to ?

The last time I read the EULA (admittedly it's been a while) transferring an account to another person was not allowed. Not that it's never been done. You'd have to prove you were the owner of the account (and they'll check to make sure you're not stealing it). Last I heard they used info like credit card number, name, address, etc.

Yeah they did ask me about my name, address I think. It was several questions they asked, to make sure it was me that owned both accounts. As far as emails go, I think my accounts are actually registered to different email addresses. And no they both weren't created at the same time. But yes of course they have both been getting paid by the same credit card.

One other thing, isn't there some security question we set into our accounts only your supposed to know? Seems to me, the SOE CS gal I spoke to on the phone asked me a personal question before they helped me. Sorry I don't remember those details right now.

Yah.. there is a security question you can setup. But, I don't think its accessible to phone support people. Its for online challenges when you are doing things like changing your password. I've had to type it in during such activities but never asked for it on the occasions that I've called SOE support.

I've heard of people getting asked it. Kinda like there's 6 different things they could ask you and that's one.

If it is 25 now then I'd be so upset. I've transfered 9 characters at $50 each. Lol. I should have waited
