Hail and well met!
I played EQ2 from around Desert of Flames to Echoes of Faydwer, quit around the time the Shard of Fear opened. I haven't played since that save for a few hours during the freebie period a few months ago (though admittedly I barely looked at the game).
When I left I was 70 Templar, 70 Provisioner, 54 AA's on The Bazaar. Obviously at this point I completely missed the Kunark expansion, and now I see a new one coming very soon.
I've been busying myself playing Vanguard and WoW. I do miss EQ2 but I'm not sure how functional it would be for me to return. Basically, I'm curious as to:
Will I be considered obsolete having missed an entire expansion of content?
How tough will it be to climb the AA ladder? I'm sure they've added points since I last played.
How is the population? I'm not big on soloing in EQ2... will I be able to find groups?
Is there any sort of uniquness with Kunark and SoO? I don't really want to go back to running the same dungeons over and over again... I'm more interested in exploring and running different quests.
Vanguard gave me the ability to explore a very large world that didn't follow a linear level path. I was never pigeon holed into going to one area to level, then to another standard area to level, etc. WoW gave me quick sessions that I could achieve progress with. But I'll always have a soft spot for EQ2. I just don't want to come back and be on the lurch.
Safe travels,
Niedermayer Evangeline of The Bazaar
