Ranger DPS... HELP!!!Follow

#1 Nov 04 2008 at 7:49 AM Rating: Decent
Ok I have a level 80 Fae Ranger and I love playing him, However in groups I tend to be right in the middle of the road when it comes to DPS on a named mob, but a bit higher on "normal" mobs. Are other classes skills just that much faster that they can burn through the skills? I guess as far as the heirarchy of DPS is concerned, how does the order exactly go? I think it must have something to do with the order that I use my skills and the way that I chain them together. Most of my skills are adept 3 or higher, I am using the best poisons, the best bow that I can find, and my melee weapons are highly rated. I went AGL and INT trees and then multi-shot and poison trees. Am I overthinking this because of the debuffs that some ranger skills have built in does that greatly increase the amount of dammage other classes do. In short I am trying to get the most out of my character and would like a little insight.

My personal view is, just because you put out the most dps doesn't mean you're doing a good job. If you run a parser you'll notice healers are at 0, does that mean they aren't doing their share? No.

Not saying that it couldn't be from spell rotation, but you need to think of what other classes are doing more dps then you. You will NEVER out dps a Wizard, noone will.

You definitely should take into account debuffs and other player buffs. Because its not about 'who does the most' but more about 'everyone doing something to help' imho. So if you're debuffing the mob so other people can hit it harder, or so the mob hits slow so your tank lives longer...that more then makes up for not being on the top of the parser list.
