I am unable to log on...Follow

Hello everyone,

So, I updated my game client and started a new subscription. I have attempted to play my exsisting characters several times now with no luck. The game loads all the data just fine, until it gets to ui resources. At this particular point (after a few minutes of waiting), a dialog box will appear saying "attempting to login... Server #1", to which nothing happens but a disconnection! I also tried to create a new character, and when I input a name to send to the server for approval, it won't go through and I get disconnected!

So, if anyone could help me out I would appreciate it! I was looking forward to playing again, but if I cannot get it to work, then ill be heading back to another game I guess.

The attempting to connect error is almost always a problem on SOE's end. I don't see any issues posted anywhere, odd.

What server are you trying to get on? And are you behind a firewall?

Was this last night (Halloween)? They had to reboot a bank of servers last night.

!UPDATE!

I was able to log on to my main character (finally). I was able to play for about 20 minutes, then when I went to zone into darklight woods from Neriak, I ran into the same problem and was disconnected. I talked to a few guildies in-game and learned that the server (najena) had been acting up all day with crashes and such.

Well, it seems the problem continues... Once again, it takes forevor for me to log on to any given character. Also, I noticed when I log on to some characters, there health and power bars are at 1... When this happens, I get booted off the game within a few minutes...

All in all, this is very dissapointing to me. Its unfortunate as I was considering making a return to Everquest 2, but if I cannot solve this issue, I will have to cancell my subscription once again (which appears to be a wasted $15 bucks at this point, since I cannot even play).

I cannot see how it could be on my end of things, so I feel a bit helpless. Hell, I even deleted my UI folder and re-downloaded. So, I guess I will just try again tomorrow or something.

Well, I have come to the conclusion it must be the Najena server. I just made a new character on Lucan D' Lere and the new character loaded right up fast... So, I may just select a new server and start fresh. I was considering doing so anyway, the only draw-back will be I won't be able to transfer coin I had off my main. Any server suggestions calthine?

I literally cannot log on for more than a minute to one of my characters. Ironically, I can still communicate (i.e. guild chat among others appear fine), however the rest of the world is frozen, and I have 1 health and 1 mana. I may not be able to play for whatever reason may be the cause of my dysfunctional EQ2 experience lately.

I left Everquest 2 about a year ago to play other games, then I came back briefly a few months ago (on this same computer with windows xp) and everything worked perfectly fine! All I have done for this particular return to the game, is download patches to update my client. Kinda frustrating...

Anyway, I may try to create a new character (maybe) and if that doesn't work, then I guess my return wasn't meant to be. I greatly appreciate your continued help via this thread Calthine! The helpful and friendly community that is Everquest 2 (in-game and on Alla), is the very reason I was considering to play again.
