Character Naming QuestionFollow

Hi all,

I looked up the name I wanted to use for a character on Everquest2 Players Search and my name came up on a few servers, one of which was a server I wanted to play on.

For the heck of it I decided to create a character with the same name already listed on that server that I wanted. It created it with no problem or issues, and I was able to play with the name that I wanted.

However, when I look for my name on that server in Everquest2 Station Players my class did not come up, but the level 15 paladin who used the name previous to me did still. It says he hasn't been active since December of 2007, and that hes played just 1 day or something.

Now, mind you, I am not doing a server transfer, in fact, this is a NEW account. So, when will I be able to see my name listed in the station players page, and, most importantly, why is it that I was able to create a name for a character on a server which has that name taken? His name and class are shown in the players search page on the server, adn not mine. Why was I able to create a same named character on a new account on a server that already had that same name I picked?

I want to make sure everything will be alright before I get too far into the game. I love it btw!

Thanks so much for any response to these questions. :)

The EQ2Players site is notoriously slow about updating it's information. Sometimes weeks will pass before levels, stats, etc. will update. I've had cases where I will have a character listed as L58, but shown on the page as wearing gear that can't be equipped until L62 (and the toon is actually 63 at the time).

I wouldn't sweat it too much. If you have the name that means the old character was deleted, otherwise it wouldn't have allowed you to use it. Give EQ2Players a week or so to update and if it still hasn't changed to your toon, fire off a quick e-mail to customer care.

Hi Stugein!

Thank you for the response. Man, this forum is great. :) Loads of helpful people. Well, my name is still not up, but I guess it might take a while. Again, thank you. If it stays like this for a while who do I get in contact with to resolve this?

Thank you Stugein.

No one's ever found anyone to whom to direct EQ2Players problems. Eventually it will update. Soon(tm).

I was mentioning this to Spyder in IRC earlier actually. I have one toon that is L63 or 64 and is shown on EQ2Players as wearing gear with minimum levels ranging from L52 to L61. EQ2P stills lists this toon as L44, a mark that character passed back on July 24th.

If I was still paying extra for the EQ2P stats, I'd be feeling pretty ripped off about now.
