finding quest locationsFollow

#1 Oct 27 2008 at 1:25 PM Rating: Decent
Hi...I am new to EQ2. Actually, I started playing this weekend after WOW burnout. I have had some frustration just finding my way around. I know it just takes some time to get familiar with the locations of things, but yesterday, I spent almost two hours looking for a location that I had a quest for. I enjoy spending what little time I have playing...not looking for things. My newb question is: Is there a easier way to locate quest locations once you receive one from and NPC if the quest does not give specific directions on how to get there? Location mods perhaps? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Scroll down on the left under EQ2Interface, it's called EQ2Map. It adds mucho info to the ingame map. This addon should be standard for all players.

If you know enough about UIs, check out profit reborn UI. It has a nifty spot in the quest section, where you can open a web browser to either here or eq2i and get exact locations for quest updates.

Are they still updating?

I prefer EQ2Maps, myself.

I use http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/EverQuest_2_Wiki:Main_Page to look up waypoints and then I just copy and paste /waypoint ________ into my game.

I do have eq2mapupdater downloaded though. I love it, just sometimes it is faster for me to copy and paste the location.

Thanks all the helpful advice. :-) I installed the EQ2MAP mod and liked it immediately. I have just installed the profit reborn ui. Looks really good, but it is going to take some figuring out.
