*edit after much messing around I figured out how to close them*
The ones I had that somehow morphed into 2 bars had an odd close location when right clicking

On a side note I would like to have one vertically against the edge of the screen but it doesn't seem like dragging it over and plopping it down works so well. Is there a way to rig that? Or is just best to use a spinner and keep the clutter down for the non-combat stuff

Hotbars are great for versatility and custumization. you can create them horizantal, vertical, in a box, small icons, huge icons, etc. If you're looking for it to be vertical, go to window settings, make sure that the window is unlocked and the box clicked enabled is UNclicked and you can move your box around anyways you want. As for icon size, frame, backdrop and spinner, right click on the spinner and a bunch of options should appear to play around with.

Another thing to think about if you havent yet, is to check out different UI settings you can download. If you're coming from WOW I know they have one almost identical to the default setting there, which makes coming to the game a lot easier. If you're not, I would suggest checking out Profit UI, which most people favor for casual gaming and raiding.

I really am liking EQ2 and I did play WOW in the past although it was a little too...lacking for me personally. Believe me I feel silly asking how to resize a dang toolbar but that sucker just wouldn't go. Then it turned out there were there and invisible and oh god haha. I will try and stick on vertically for my "other" stuff I don't need so fast. If not I'll be back...
