I see for people and things co-ordinates are listed yet I seem to be terrible using the ones by the north arrow. Is there a better way to follow them?

Im not quite sure what youre asking as Im confused by your use of north arrow. However, I tend to enter the coords I need and it should mark it on your map so you can see where to go. You will also have a yellow wispy line appear and show you the way when you get a little closer to the coordinates

I don't know what you mean by the north arrow either. To use the coordinates, enter /waypoint x,y,z (where x,y,z are the three coordinates listed) in your chat window. If there are only two coordinates use zero for the middle coordinate.

This will bring up a dot on your map of the location; your chat window will say something like "your destination is to the north and east of you"; and when you are close enough a glowing gold trail will guide you in.

To obtain a coordinate for an object or mob, get as close as possible to it and type /loc (short for location).

Sorry I am having trouble finding a co-ordinate of -85.15, -11.54, 42.64 (book of the dead quest) and I seem to be able to get 2 co-ords lined up but then the third co-ord goes all to hell. I was hoping maybe there was a way to find a co-ord on the map.
I will try the /loc thing

I was assuming those 3 co-ords were based on North, West, East, South somehow rather then X'Y'Z. Engineering education has me thinking to much I suppose ha

I fail to see how there can be an z co-ord in a 2 dimensional map. Can anyone explain?

Ah, there's the confusion. They're the x, y, and z axis on a three-dimensional model. You have 3 dimensions because of hills and valleys and dungeons with more than one level. Ah, found the documentation on it: Template:EQ2 Loc

In your chat window type /way -85.15, -11.54, 42.64

(/way is short for /waypoint. /loc will give you the coordinates of where you are, not where you're going!).

edit: PS, on that link, the stuff below the image is just documentation on our wiki loc template, lol.

Dont worry about asking questions. It's what we're here for, and we all started the same way, brand new Smiley: grin I think we would all rather you ask questions than to fumble around on your own and get frustrated.

Another easy way to type coords, is to not worry about the entire full number. In other words, if coords write out as -23.25 00.00 837.38 just type /way -23 00 837

There's literally tons of posts on the Official Section offering help. Different things trip different people up - just ask, lol.
