conjuror vs. necroFollow

I have been thinking for some time about whacking one of my crafting alts and creating a combat conjuror. I have a good friend who is a conjuror and loves it. I already have a main who is a necro and it's my favorite. So...is there much difference between a conjuror and a necro and worth the switch. I played a conjurer up to level 10 and thought they were not as powerful as a necro. What are the views of others who know these classes. Thanks.

My main is a necro, which is one of the best soloing classes I've found (have three other combat classes as well). I tried all the mages to level 10 and found them power dependent (ie run out of power before the fight is over). No offense intended to other mage classes. The necro has strong companions which can be used well tacticly and pretty solid nukes. It struck me that conjurors had slightly weaker companions (mine died pretty quickly, but I was at low level) than necros. These might be kind of the same, but I'm getting a bug for some reason to want to try a conjuror. I would have to whack a mid-30s crafter to do this and don't know if the difference would be worth it.

Perhaps I was unclear in the intent of my original question. I don't need to be told what a stupid question it is. I know what the classes ARE. I'm interested whether there's enough difference in gameplay BETWEEN these classes (spells, creatures, etc) to make it worth destroying an established character.Apparently there isn't. Sorry to have wasted everyone's time.
