Hey,
I'm hoping someone could help me out? I'm thinking about giving EQII a proper shot, only I've tried EQII a few times and I can't help but get confused.
Servers, I mean - what exactly is it you 'role play' on the RP ones?
Classes/Races, I find them mind blowing, lot's to choose from
The map, it's huge! I done a few quests on a PvP server but I was hoping to see what PvP was like (didn't care if I died), but I couldn't find it anywere! I was running around area-to-area for over 40 mins

there are three types of servers, RP, PVE, and PVP. RP pretty much means you are not mr So and So sitting at your computer playing a game. YOu actually delve into the character and become the character. There is no net, tv. or youtube, only Norrath. PVP you are able to attack other players within a certail adventure level, whether they want you to or not and same can happen to you. PVE you need permission to duel others.
Classes, races, they all work together. You can pick a class and be any race you want, and vice versa. have fun with the creativity it allows you
As for maps, they open up as you explore. Hit M and it shold bring up a blackened map. The more you explore the more you can see. And you get experience from discovering new areas, so its a great way to get to know your way around and level up.
