Novus weapon & augmented gear additional effect?Follow

I was on the other day on and I noticed a FC member that had on a glowing body piece (augmented healing robe) and then she drew her book of diamonds, and to my shock, the book gave off an additional visual effect. I know the visual effect the novus is suppose to give off and it was, but there was an additional noticeable effect. When I ask how they got their novus to do this, they said it was due to them wearing the augmented body piece.

Can anyone confirm this? When I get on later I will see if the FC member is on so I can take a screenshot and will post it here.

The extra circle of runes/light spinning around the book you mean? Saw something like that, but i simply figured that was the regular effect, hmm. That's pretty cool.

The i110 weapons all have goowing effects. The book of diamonds has a circle pop out with glyphs and stuff on it. The body piece shouldnt affect the weapon at all, at least fo my knowlege.

Book of diamonds is acquired by trading 1300 solidery for 10 Rowena's tokens, and trading those in with an unidentified allagan tomestone to obtain the weathered book of diamonds. Then the weathered book is presented with a sands in fallgourd float to receive the unweathered "glowy version". These soldiery purchased items produce an initial "spark" glow effect when unsheathed, then settle into a dull glow. My Laevateinn on blm produces the same kind of effect. However the scholar and summoner books, once un-weathered, produce imo one of the coolest weapon effects in the game, a circular runic halo effect. http://scontent-a.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xap1/t51.2885-15/10499208_671542319589644_1576627678_a.jpg

I have not noticed an additional weapon effect that comes with wearing an augmented ilvl 90 crafted armor piece with the soldiery purchased weapons. Standard augmented pieces have some track lighting rolling in a circle around one or both shoulders, that is all. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BtWGeQgCcAAfGKp.jpg:large One point to note: if you are wearing an augmented piece in an instance and you die, you lose the glowy effect. You have to put on another piece of gear and reequip the augmented piece to get the glow back. This is probably a bug, but not enough people are willing to shell out the gil to find that out and report it (doesnt bother me too much personally so idc enough to report it).

Do not confuse book of diamonds with the omnilex novus, (http://images.bluegartr.com/bucket/gallery/635ad5d59af8455cbfbfa0a46f1a446a.png ) which requires a very long progression from atma to animus to novus, whose substats are customizable, and in some ways can exceed the soldiery purchased weapon if the soldiery weapon has undesirable substats. But the book of diamonds and the omnilex novus are both level 110. The animus and novus generally both produce a constant powerful pulsating or flaming glow, but in the case of the omilex novus it is similar to a starburst effect.

I think that your friend has a book of diamonds (not a novus), has the unweathered runic halo effect, and is also glamouring / wearing a augmented cashmere healing robe with the white track lighting around both shoulders, certaintly a cool combination of effects, but definitely independent of one another.
