I have plenty of room unless the PS4 version is that different control wise and they stripped out the extra 7 sets you get.

having a crap morning at work and that was a bit harsh... what i mean to say is...i know i have extra hotbars. If that were the question I wanted answered, I would have asked it.

I have 2 sets I use for WHM. One is a pure healing set, one set has some healing stuff left off in place of DPS abilities.

The sass my retainers give me when I recall them from a venture to put stuff on the market boards. Smiley: bah

One neat thing is, by default, 5 of your 8 cross-bars are carried over to all your classes (you can adjust this to your preference). So I use the 4th cross-bar (R1-square, I believe) to put moves I'd use on all classes, including sprinting, summoning mounts, chocobo companion commands, etc, and it's always there no matter which class I switch to.

Basically, by putting Sprinting there, you'll instinctually switch to that bar whenever you need to run no matter which class you happen to be using at the time. I highly recommend it.

Yeah, I've got Sprint, Teleport, Return, Mount on my bar where you hit L2 then R2. It's just really clumsy to swap around. I mean by the time you swap the bar and hit Sprint, it's probably too late to run. I haven't really needed it since I swapped to PS4 so I think I'm going to drop it from my 'main' crossbar and just leave it on the 'shared' one I have :)

I hate when you goto a market board and there is someone standing behind it..so when you goto the market board you hit their name all the time..

Only my first one swears at me. The others adore me, although sometimes a little too creepily.

Little annoyance? The river near Bentbranch camp in Central Shroud where it looks like you can jump back on land using the rocks, but you can't.
#84 May 07 2014 at 4:09 PM Rating: Excellent
You can, you just have to get a running start. On the rocks. It's hard, but I've done it before.

Mine is having multiple retainers, telling one to take a hike then having to use the summoning bell to check the next one. Why can't it just go back to the select a retainer menu!

Not knowing how much Progress your Synth actions will give before actually doing them. Can't count the number of times I wasted materials because I didn't know I could get 100% progress on a single Careful Synth (or the number of times I failed a synth because I assumed I could do it in one, but ran 1-2 Progress Points short).

Also, accidentally mis-calculating the above on recipes that take 3+ Synths to finish. "Ooops, I accidentally finished the recipe before increasing quality!"

Definitely agree on having to dismount, do something, mount again, etc. It's actually improved some since beta/release, but they could do more there.

Too many confirmation windows still. And some are set up differently. With some the cursor starts at yes, others no. So it's not always the same pattern of button pushes.

When you're looking at the map for FATEs you can move the cursor over them to see the time remaining. It'd be cool if that could show the progress bar too.

And those FATEs that take a good while to despawn, but all the enemies aggro you as they run away. So you can't mount until they finally get far enough away/despawn.

IMO, _all_ fates should act like those that are initiated by an NPC. The thing that initiates the FATE should stay in the game world for 15min, and then once activated, it stays there for 15min or until completed.

I hate logging on, teleporting somewhere, seeing a cool FATE I can actually solo.....oh wait, it only has 5min left and the progress bar is empty. Nope, not gonna be able to do that. With my idea, the NPC/object that starts it would be there and I could start it and get a Fresh 15min to solo the FATE.

Point-and-click targeting is a bit rough when you or the target (or both) is moving. Seems like you have to hit the target dead-center to make it work.

Not being able to change gear while shop window is open.

Entering an instance while in the FC house, but zoning out of the instance into the housing ward.

ilvl requirement resetting to 80 when you have to relist it (like when you have a full pt and someone drops before entering), but nothing else changes.

Not being able to promote PT leader if they're not in the same zone.

Not to mention the game's annoying tendency to be stupid about what you select; you can click on that huge FATE boss in the background and select some random small mob in the foreground, despite the cursor being 50+ pixels away from the small mob's actual graphics. Sometimes I wonder if the click hitboxes are giant cubes around everything with room to spare.

Also, Tab-Targeting choosing to select mobs 50 feet away from you, instead of something that's right next to you (WoW does this too and it is SO frustrating, I don't get why closer mobs can't be prioritized over mobs further away).

Not being able to use "Focus Target" with the PS4 controller... but I can use "Focus Target" if I hook up a keyboard to the PS4 and use Shift-F. Smiley: rolleyes

I think I saw a macro command for setting a focus target on the list of macros SE posted on the forums that someone shared in another thread. Could you spare a macro slot for it?

I agree it's dumb that it isn't native, though.

You most certainly can focus with a PS4 controller:

Target the mob > Hit the Square button > Hit the D-Pad until you select Focus Target > Hit X button to confirm your selection > Profit

ETA: This is also how you mark with a controller. Think of it as 'right clicking' ;)

Ah, this is cool. Thanks for that. But you have to admit, selecting from a menu isn't quite as handy as an instant click on the keyboard. I hope Catwho is right about the command option.

Well, it used to be that all "Shift +F" got you on PS3 was a capital F, so I'm already used to it lol. So when I join a Titan EX/Turn 5, here's what happens: R2+L1, Square, dpad up, X, Protect, Stoneskin x8, Eye for an Eye, and it's on. It happens so quick I don't even see the menu lol.

Oh that reminds me:

I hate the fact that FATEs triggered by NPCs are not viewable until you get really close to said NPC. How the hell are you supposed to know if it's up outside of walking up to the NPC?

My other annoyance is not being able to see FATEs in areas that you aren't currently in. You would think the atma books would have made this possible...

Got a really cool WHM on my friends list because of this. Me and him and a WAR partied up and all went to one of the 3 zones we each needed for the FATEs in the book. My zone popped first, we gathered up in Outer La Noscea, then Coerthas, then Eastern Thanalan. Worked out really well. :)

But yeah, maybe some sort of on screen pop up showing you the FATE in your book was active? Or maybe your weapon pulsates or something?

This is the way to do these books!! Unfortunately, I don't have anyone to do the books with. T_T Pretty clever, though.

Yeah, there were three of us standing there in the snow waiting for the Croc to show, and he was like... So do you guys need Schism, Big Bagoly, and Whatever the Croc one is. And we were all like "YEAH!" and then he was like... I ...have... a ... PLAN!!! lol :D

Mwuahaha. There are commands that take care of this!

I've got a macro set for "/focustarget" which will set the focus target to whatever you are targeting.

And there's another set for "/ta <focus>" which will set your target to your focus target.

This would be a great thread for SE to read.

What bothers me the most right now is having to take my hand off of the controller to click the level sync button every time I want to join a low level FATE. That gets old fast when Atma farming.
