I'm back on the f*ck this sh*t train. I don't even think that the Atma of the Ram exists. I've been keeping track of my FATEs using the achievement list. I've done 174 FATEs (and that's just since I started keeping track, which I wasn't doing until the third day of this damn zone) in Middle La Noscea, and I haven't even seen anyone get the damn Atma, much less get it myself.
Understand completely. I spent 5 hours in southern thanalan last night and ran 55 FATES and came up with nothing. Then I switched to Upper La Noscea and ran 12 FATEs and got nothing.
I'm currently 4/12, with Central Shroud being my current bane to progress. This is in part due to my limited time available to play the game. (Two jobs and a raid schedule.) But I'll keep plugging away at it when I have time.
Working on Soldiery Tomes as well, however. In spite of it being a bait-and-switch scheme to force players to do Coil. *Fumes*

Well I am still at 3 atmas.. Wow... I am actually considering the other path weapons now...
Tes is done and already almost through her first book.. Let me tell you that is insane difference in time..
Not to mention she already has 4 atmas for her second relic.

The rng is crazy. I was 4/12. got 4 saturday, and 0 sunday and spent probably 4 hours farming each day. No I'm 8/12 but W T F.

I know it seems hopeless, but keep at it. Set some number of hours you're going to work at it, and don't go over that or you'll never get anything else done. For me it was Upper La Noscea, Western Thanalan, and Eastern Thanalan - I spent days on each. After 500ish fates though, I finally got all 12 and it is so so so much less terrible to just wait for a specific fate to pop than it is to run around like crazy, a slave to the fates. (pun wasn't intended, but I totally kept it once i realized XD)
I spent the whole day Saturday on my atmas. 9:30 too around 10:00 and only got one atma late in the day.
Yesterday I was out for about 6 hours trying to get the last two... Finally got the last two and they fell almost on top of each other again.
These frggin book fates are even worse.. I stood there for over 3 hours waiting for a fate too pop and finally had to go to bed, some people had been there a long time already when I got there so I figured hell it should pop soon... You cant leave because this fate will only take 1 min to down... Really they need to have a timer for these fates that tell you when they are going to pop next.. Some people have said this fate can take 25 hours too pop... 25 hours are you frigging kidding me? I am not standing there 25 hours.
The fact is too you cant run in and get a hit and get credit like on atmas. Tes has failed two of hers. Anyone know why you fail? Is it you have to be there when the fate starts, is it based on time or is based on damage.. Basing it on damage would stink for a whm..
Some Have been camping some others fates even longer. It would not be bad if you could do something else while you waited.
You know too the same fate has popped twice in several hours so this fate is random too, it is not like it pops once every 35 hours... You know people complained about camping mobs in FFXI but hey at least there was window and you knew when to return.. This damn fate seem to pop anyway where from 1/2 hour to 25 hours.

I finally got 12/12 Atma, took somewhere in the region of 400+ fates to do it. So not super fast but at least faster than some.
The worst area was lower la nosca, teleport at one end, long ride to the other side, many fates were over by the time I got there :(.
But West La Nos and Eastern Than took the longest (oh how I grew to hate that goat fate).

I got my Animus last night fellas and boy was I happy!!! Where's Wint?! Break out the champagne man!!! I did it, and i'm tired!! LOL
Keep at it guys there is light at the end of the tunnel!!
