PS3 Screen Resolution helpFollow

#1 Aug 24 2013 at 8:33 AM Rating: Decent
Hey guys, I have FFXIV for the PS3. My HDTV is a 1080p, 120hz and will run the game. The game automatically starts up at 420p but that is not the recommended 720p setting. I don't know how to adjust the screen resolution; the config doesn't have settings, nor the TV menu.

How can the screen resolution be adjusted?

Thanks

I had this problem too, but then i switched to a HDMI cable from a scart leed/thing and that instantly fixed the problem.

I have similar problem, my TV display is cropped in PS3 (was changed suddenly without reason).

My workaround:
Using TV Remote Controller:
  • Menu
  • Settings
  • Screen
  • Display Area : "+1" (instead of "Normal")

This is one of my biggest gripe with the newer model PS3's (as I don't recall having it on a few older models I've used). It doesn't auto-detect your video AND audio output on startup...seriously Sony? This is a basic PC feature..

3 steps
1. Check the settings on tv
2. Change your to 1080p. 1080i 720p etc settings in the ps3 display options.
3. Try adjust the screen resolution in game
