Well, I'm not sure what happened in Phase 2, I don't know if anyone does, but with the release date and per-orders coming in, they are surely collecting "Profit," so.... I would say "Phase 3" has begun.
P3 hasn't begun yet. They will announce it in the live letter today :P at least in my timezone xD
EDIT: so that would still be tomorrow in America :P

In my mind the partial lift of the NDA already happened when they allowed people to talk about the character creator and Gridania. Perhaps they'll expand it a bit more, but I wouldn't be too hopeful.

For those of us in the beta we do know what happened in Phase 2, we just can't say anything (that people want to hear). Looking at the road map a head Phase 3 & Phase 4 say
NDA partially lifted, no clue what that means. I can understand Phase 3 being its a closed beta still but on the open beta??

I believe the beta road map removed the life of NDA from phase 3. In other words during phase 2 the NDA was expected to be lifted once phase 3 hit, as of earlier this week I believe that changed and the NDA will still be in place for phase 3. You can view it here:

I still wouldn't think the NDA is lifted until Wint says it is. He is in the Beta, so he gets that information too. Although you may be able to talk about it I think the sites should also give us an all clear before we start telling everyone about the Golden Saucer being hidden in the Archer's Guild.

The link I provided can be found by googling FFXIV ARR beta roadmap, nothing secret here. Before, during phase 2, in the provided link during phase 3 the NDA was going to be lifted, as of earlier this week it changed and the NDA will only be partially lifted.

Yeah I'll announce when the NDA is lifted, but as of now I wouldn't expect it being lifted before phase 3 is underway, and perhaps not fully until phase 4. The roadmap link is of course fair game

Wait I thought Live Letter was during E3??
Phase 3 will start during the weekend after next. Expect an official announcement via the live letter in a few hours. (As per my inside resources)
Here's to hoping I get into the beta FINALLY during Phase 3. I do have the whole week of the 10th off and I would love to spend that time playing. Of course, this would be after having to download the game for 1-3 days XD. 1.5mbps no longer cuts it.. Upgrading to 24mbps soon(TM).

That's interesting. I think they changed Phase 3 -> Phase 4 transition by making it another character purge?
I also see that the only other crafting reference in the remaining two phases is Materia crafting now...
As I didn't play when Materia crafting was released, should I be thrilled it's included or worried that it's just that?

YaY! Only 1 and a half hour till it starts. Of course i wont understand a think other than the greetings but hey who cares.
This is my first time sitting to watch one. It hasn't started yet but 10k people watching live, atm, seems like a pretty good number, right?
