So what are you guys expecting as far as PS3 features?
Wireless keyboard needed?
Bad graphics?

I wouldnt consider it, but my computer may not be able to run XIV at the level that I like... :(

I think you can expect graphics for the ps3 as shown in this video. As long as the FPS gets a little better (heard its not fully optimized yet) I'm going to be happy about how the ps3 version turns out to be.

At least I'm going to play on a "wired" keyboard... Can't imagine myself recharging the wireless keyboard all the time.. X.<

I might have to get a wireless keyboard, my seat is going to be all the way across the room for PS3 play and then I can move to the desk and play from there too I suppose. I'm not too fussed about graphics, I can do dungeons on my PC if the framerate stops me from being efficient.

I mostly have ease of use/access in mind. I'm not too bothered about graphics, either. Considering the crappy ports the PS3 tends to get for cross-platform titles, I'll just be happy if the game doesn't freeze on me.

Its a little bit of a concern, especially after watching the Tour of Eorzea or whatever video on the FFXIV homepage. Ill check my pc for performance tonight.

I'm sensing some lingering feelings towards Mass Effect and the Collectors ;p

I have a old mini logitech usb keyboard I used for FFXI that I think I'll use for ARR. The graphics might not be up to par with the PC but I ca deal with it. I'm almost sure of this is a success it will be going to the PS4 which then I'll jump to that console.

I'm expecting the ps3 graphics to be on par with a computer on low settings.

It's important to keep two things in mind:

1) PS3 performance will likely be the bottom rung for this game.

2) The unique, scalable graphics engine of FFXIV means this game will be completely upgradable for peak current technology, and tech that hasn't arrived yet, while still allowing gameplay on the ps3... in other words, no more "ps3 limitations" to hold the game back from looking beautiful years from now... while also never leaving ps3 players in the dust.

Given those things, I'm very excited for the ps3 release! When I want the game to look as pretty as possible, though, I'll be logging in on my PC.

I'm holding out hope that we have enough of a winner that there's a PS4 port. If I get too sad for the lower graphics, I'm hoping I can just jump to that instead.

Yeah, I'm sure the devs will want to port over to the PS4 after they see how the system fares. If/when they do, I will definitely be upgrading. The game sharing options look too good to pass up.

This thread makes me want to buy a PC... Bah...

That being said, I don't think it will look that bad for PS3. I just need to make sure I never see what it looks like on a high-end PC and I'll be fine :p

I built my computer for FFXIV 3 years ago. It cost me $750 so I built another for my gf to play. This PC was able to play the original at high settings, and I can play the beta at very high (I of course am speaking only about Gridania and Character Creation.)

Still, I'm going to upgrade the GPU so I can max the settings, but a "Great" GPU is only like $200 now. I built this computer with no knowledge of building, just bought a refurbished computer from Newegg that had a Quad Core processor for $400, then upgraded the Power Supply, RAM, and Graphics Card for an additional $350.

I still bought the PS3 version though.. Trophies, sitting on the couch, and ease of transport to a friends house to have super awesome WAN parties... couldn't resist.

If the experience is able to match that which the XBox provided for XI then I will be happy.

I don't care if the graphics are on par with a top notch computer, obviously that won't happen. I just want the PS3 to provide a clean, well running experience. I'm sure it will do just that.

Edit: Now, I will say I do have some high expectations for the PS4 version... That I will expect to rival at least a mid-tier computer.
