I'll be playing considerably more casually than I did in FFXI. In XI, I was in a really competitive endgame shell, and I think we all know what that entailed. Incredibly late nights, pretty much on call from 5pm-5am 7 days a week when HNM's were in NA prime time. I had almost no life outside the game. Now I have a fiance, a fulltime design job, a house, and a dog to take care of. No kids yet, but they're in the future I'm sure. So my priorities have shifted bigtime and I'm ok with that.
It doesn't mean I won't be playing FFXIV whenever I do have free time. I never thought I'd anticipate a game this much after the 1.0 flop, but I can honestly say that after looking at it, I'm really as excited as I was for 1.0. Of course, that might change when I actually get to play it, who knows. I hope not, because it looks like a game I could enjoy for a super long time and finally stop the constantly revolving door of mmo's I play...
