Since FFXIV characters were designed after FFXI characters to make "transitioning" easy on FFXI character.. I wanted to "resurrect" my FFXI character on XIV whenever it comes out. SO im wondering if it would be possible to make

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Character_Creation/Hume_Models

Male Hume Hair A Face 8 on FFXIV.. was it possible in 1.0 and do you think it will be possible in 2.0?

Who knows, maybe? You'd want to recreate your character exactly, though? FFXI had some very generic character creation options now that I look back. FFXIV lets you do way more, from eye features to tattoos, to different colored hair.

Are you trolling again? ;) I saw "Duo Maxwell" in game and he denied being related to zam in any way shape or form lol

I'm sure they will have all the standard faces as pretty close to what we had before; but I'd prefer all new things as well since I don't want to beat the dead horse of what XI was any further.

Like Final Fantasy XI, the game specs will be extremely high for the time, but in about 5 years, an average machine can run it on max settings with little to no issues. Tanaka also expressed interest in making a benchmark program available.

The Final Fantasy XIV character creation has many of the exact same hair styles as FFXI. The one you're asking for is one of them, meaning that, yes, you are able to make your exact FFXI character in FFXIV. :)

I recall there being an option in FFXIV for a similarly snide and somewhat sneaky-looking face, yes. ;)

so why start the thread if you never had an ffxi char to start with?

only saying what i'm seeing, i dont know what you meant, as you wrote that you didn't play ffxiv and ffxi opposed to writing that you have never played FFXIV, and FFXI .........., but then you commited to it by backing up the statement by putting in brackets that you didn't play. a comma can change a whole sentace.

Dont get your back up from your own sentance, assuming people will automatically know what you mean.

Or you could click that little edit button and save everyone the confusion, some of your posts are hard enough to decipher as it is...

by the time i myself have noticed the problem, someone else (as in this case) has already pointed it out for me thus editing at that point would be useless lol

I just don't get how you act like it's everyone else's fault they misinterpreted something you typed? I can tell you're not out to make friends here, but a little common courtesy goes a long way.

In version 2.0 all character models will be replaced by stick figures.

Well were the shoe on the other foot. Id have read all the posts in the topic... or at least the first post (why go into a topic if youre not gonna at least read the first one). Follow by the last few posts (as opposed to just the last post(s) like most do) so I could see where everyone was at in the topic.

Then I woulda have spotted the inconsistency and said something like "Ok youre first post implies you played FFXI but your last one says you didnt, make up your mind it cant be both, one or the other. Pick one."

At that point I would have been corrected (as opposed to just reading one post and jumping to a conclusion, despite the apparent lack of sense it makes.) and that would be that.

There now you have some insight as to how I think and operate.

I guess the only reason I wasn't confused is because I check the forum a few times daily and I happen to know a little about your history with FFXI, but I did find that particular post odd. Not everyone is on here all the time, so they might not know much about you, Duo. Also, not everyone is going to remember the first post if it has been a couple days since the thread was started. Therefore, I say shame on him for not paying attention, and shame on you for jumping down his throat getting snarky.

I'll now retire to the corner of the room with my halo.

Edit: fixed Smiley: grin

As "generic" as XI was I probably killed my Main a half dozen times before I settled with what was considered the main stream mithra look. I won't be surprised if I spend half a day just worrying what I look like before I even actually play the darn game.

I normally don't spend more than just a few seconds with the character creator. I think that may change this time around though. Since you may spend your entire time playing this game with only one character I can certainly understand why you'd want to make sure you get it right.

This thread is making my head hurt.

Anyway, I know when the playstation 2 version of ffxi launched in NA; my girlfriend and I picked our character models and character names in advance well before we picked the game up.

For me, I've played this character for 8 years--time for a change.

Elvaan male, red hair, young face.

I don't even really care for 'Elvaans' in ffxiv so far design wise from what i've seen but I won't discount them completely. Hume, taru, male mithra all look awesome this time around whereas in ffxi I didn't care for the hume male models that much.

So yeah.. with so much customization and so many choices this time around--I won't miss ffxi's old character models that much and if i get that sentimental i'll either log onto ffxi or check them out on google/ffxicyclopedia or a dozen other sites.
