Well, I don't know if anyone here knows what's been happening on FFXI, but the only job I really enjoyed sucks total *** now. So I've been on the hunt for a new MMORPG, and I was wondering if there's a class (job) where I can solo and just play on my own time. I really don't know anything about the game, but I would just like a general impression of what everyone thinks of this transition.

Thanks in adnvanced.

FFXI is just out now to me it's too boring now and waiting hrs for a party that lasts 10 min is horrible, personally i switched to DAoC b/c of a Co-worker and i love the game, its so much fun and i left the game for awhile to try other MMORPG's and none of them came close to DAoC so i think you should make the jump like me ^-^

For solo'ing that's a easy thing to do seeing as any class you pick in this game you can create a certain "spec" now i say spec in meaning u can put points into different weapons and abilities to match ur playing style.

I solo as a Sniper spec range but there are many classes that can solo (i'm a hib) so you should try the trial version of it and c what u think but I personally love this game and have a blast with it anytime i play with the friendly community in hibernia!

There are several classes you can solo very well with. For example on Alb: Necromancers, FRiars, Heretics, Paladins, cabalists all good solo classes for leveling. Not the greatest classes for RvR, you will want a group or to run with the zerg in rvr with these classes, but good for a first toon and to start leveling and get some cash. In hibernia Vamps are a good solo class, as are enchanters. In midgaurd you can do well solo as a BD I know for sure, dunno much about the other classes.

You dont have to buy "food" in DAoC but high end gear can cost a pretty penney sometimes. You can put a good RvR template together for very little though.

If you buy epic edition of DAoC then task dungeons are the way to level. The game is better if you group, but you dont really have to much anymore. The whole point of the game is to get to 50 get geared up and hit the frontiers where you will fight other players who have done the same thing.

If I were you I would reccommend starting on the classic servers. There will be more people for lower level grouping (no /level allowed) and you wont have to deal with people who have been TOA'd ML'd to the max providing for a fun experience.

Necromancer is the best class to solo in Albion. Animist is the best class to solo in Hib. I dont know about mid though.
