Scout's spec. Need Help.Follow

I have a scout at level 40 and i dont want to waste my chance for the free respec. i was aiming for 50 bow 42 shield 35 stealth and 18 thrust.

Is this just dumb. or should i go

35 stealth 40 bow 42 shield 35 thrust.

im worried with the lower bow number my chance to hit will be lowered significantly along with damage but after reading a few formus people were saying 50 bow is a bad idea.

Critshot is a good resource, just be aware that most information on it is years out of date. Go to the Catacomb class forums boards for Scouts.

50 bow is a waste of points. Period.

The damage drop off at 45 lb from 50 is negligable.

Go 45 if you're afraid of losing to much at 40.

Your first spec has really bad melee, though for a scout we avoid melee because its best to use the big gun, and we will never tank down anyone. Our melee weapon is to use to finish off the bad gy when he closes with you, with hopefully a significant portion of his life missing.

With 18 thrust just macro /rel, because it won't help you at all. With that low weapon skill you woan't hit anything.

Suggested specs:

45 lb 35 stealth 42 shield 29 thrust.

40 lb 35 stealth 42 shield 35 thrust.

Alot of rangers will go 35 bow <mine does>, but it's not suggested for a scout, especially pre-RR5.

an alternative (though a horrible choice if you like rapidfire) is 29 longbow... I read in another post a few weeks ago that the player didn't notice any real difference between 29 longbow and 45, and that they were able to bring up their slash considerably through this... the major drawback is obviously lack of rapidfire and lack of piercing for those annoying bladeturn bubbles... Not a spec I've tested so I can't say whether it's nice or not, but if you're in the mood to test it, give it a go.. 29 lb, 35 stealth, 42 shield and rest in weaponskill.. I met a highlander scout that reports they do excellent melee damage compared to their saracen scout with identical specs and no apparent loss on ranged attack damage. Not saying this is good or even suggested advice, but it's an option/avenue that has been explored and claims to be decent.
