Which midgard class solo's the best?

For that matter which is the best solo class in the game?

I would favor one of the 'pet' classes for soloing: Hibernian Enchanter and Midgard Bonedancer come to mind. From my own experience, Savage is one of the *worst* classes to solo. I would imagine that holds true for the other tank classes -- no matter how bad you are, unless you have buffs you're going down.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Mid BD is by far the best soloer in the realm.

Even wih average armor U can more or less chain orange, and U can solo red with ok armor and no buff's.

I disagree with the comment by Kandino that tanks cannot solo. I play a warrior (norseman) and I find it very easy to solo. Keeping your weapon and shield specced at your level is the best thing to do. I can often times get through a battle with a yellow without getting hit at all, or just a few times, and then rarely (if ever) going below half my HP if a battle just happens to go poorly. While buffs help of course, you aren't "going down" without someone's help. That's what tanks are... long surviving, high HP defenders. It's always nice to have a healer/shaman with you, but it's not hard to live without them solo wise (this however, is only referring to PvE- RvR will be different). This may only goes for warriors though, savages will usually need a buddy, and berserkers I haven't had any experience with. Good luck to you.

Have you thought about trying a thane? You get the best of both worlds with powerful bolts and ae spells plus the benefit of chain and attack styles. They usually get into a group fairly quickly and we are very versatile in RVR combat. I have a 50 thane that I created for defense, but my RL brother made a purely offensive thane to compliment my defensive one. His 50 thane is absolutely wicked in RVR and PVE combat. He specced up 50 storm , 50 axe and the rest into parry. He is a 2 hander but he has an axe with a haste proc. I enjoyed playing my thane but I switched to Runemaster because 2 thanes are very limited in rvr.
Just my humble opinion

I say a Runemaster would be better for solo.

I solo with my RM he is spec'd RC the bolts have mad dmg and you have a long distance befor the mob can hit you. tho the down time is there for the power rgen i love to play with the Rm just for the fact that 2 bolts and 2 nukes will take a yellow or 2 bolts and root then 2 more bolts kill oj's with no problem. I have started a Pbaoe SM and soloing with him is nice as well just have to let pet take the aggro for a few hits and then you can blast them with out a problem. the only thing is the down time for power regen.

thats all i can say

Bonedancer is the best Mid class for solo, i can solo reds with just pets and lifetaps, dont forget to spec in Suppression!

As i would agree that a Bonedancer can chain oj and sometimes red and it might be the best solo class in midgard (if not, the game), My dark sm can chain pull Oj's for 20minutes with pom pots and dex pots, but i would like to point out that any class can be solo .. i have made all my char's through doing the opposite spec of what every1 i know tells me to do ... i have made a cave shammy to level 40 then swapped to aug then back to cave on frontior update ... i have a 43 dark sm that i got to 40 in 2weeks with out any sorta group or powerlevel at all .. i have a 41 hunter that i havnt grp'd with... and a 42 BoneDancer with access to a 50 i helped level .. if u ask my oppinion i would say pick a class u like .. all of them can do pretty much the same dmg...

eg: at 50 a Suppression SM can do 700 to 900 on a oj with its Pbaoe .. but if it gets hit, then its pet intercepts it will still have the same life .. where as if a Darkness SM gets hit and the pet parry's or blocks for u, u have a life tap that is also the most powerfull life tap in the game .. (i havnt seen or heard of a life tap that is stronger or returns the same ammount of power and full life after 1 tap)

i have personally taken on a red and 2 oj's with out mezz or anything ... pet lived .. i lived and i got yummy exp.. but a bd is sorta a class that will take a while longer then a dark sm to level.. bonedancer pets take more exp as there are more of them and i started my SM when a mate started his bonedancer... i over took him by a mile and he had a bot.. he had to go to modern to catch up to me and i am still 3levels infront of him .. roughly same play time .. same stats but it all comes down to how hard u push your char .. let me tell u i havnt been in the game as long as most ppl but i have learnt that if u push with a type of char that no1 would ever solo with it is quite amazing the stuff u can do... any 1 who would like to see some action i tell u to come to Merlin/Mid and i will show u what a Sm can do.

In my opinion, all Midgard classes are fun and fairly easy to solo with. It's mainly the players' preferance. I myself like pure tanks, casters, and sometimes hybrids. I don't really enjoy pet classes, but pet classes are some of the best classes. I'll give you some info about the classes and what they can do.

Berserker: I have recently made a berserker (dwarf, lvl 9) and i have found that berserkers make fine soloers. They can deal massive damage in a short period of time due to their dual wielding abilities and the ability to turn to their vendo (beaver-man) form, virturally doubling their damage output through critical hits. The only down-side to being a berserker is you have few hit points ans are limited to wearing studded armor.

Warrior: Warriors can wear chain armor, and wield almost any of the weapons Midgard has to offer. They have and extremely high amount of hit points, and are always welcome in groups. When a group can't be found, higher level Warriors can solo oj with little resistance, and reds with a little trouble. As a matter of fact, my friends warrior (lvl 20, troll) was grouped with a healer, shadowblade, and a hunter. They were in Vendo caverns and got jumped by 3 oj, 4 yellow, and the albino cave bear. They dropped all of the bears with little resistance, and the healer only had to heal the hunter and shadowblade, even though most of the aggro was on the 20 warrior. In a nut shell, if you want fun group play, warrior's great. If you want to solo, warrior's also great.

Shaman: Great for soloing. Thanks to their diverse buffs and poisons, the shaman is a great addition to any group. They can poison, kite, bolt, disease, heal, rez, dd, and almost every other spell u can think of. They are masters of kiting, but i'd only recommend a shaman to an advanced player, they get a little complicating.

Spiritmaster: These guys are great soloers. Due to their strong pet, mez, and pbaoe, they are great for any group. Outside of groups, they are very adept soloers.

Runemaster: Masters of damage output, thanks to bolts, DD, and very outstanding AoE spells. Runemasters are Midgards leading spell caster in terms of getting the job done quick and in a hurry. With the 6 sec PBT, against 2 handed tanks chances are you won't get touched.

Bonedancer: A very complicated class to play. The commander can control 3 healers, archers, tanks, or a buffer, making the bonedancer virturally invincible. You can even mix and match different pets, like 2 healers, 1 buffer ect. With instant lifetaps, bolts, dd, and DoT, these guys are a force to be reckoned with.

Hunter: Great soloers. When speced pure stealth and bow, with extra points in beastcraft, these guys are great for dealing massive damage. Hunters are almost always welcome in a group, and in RvR they really shine in keep defense and taking.

Shadowblade: These guys are known for the infamous 1 hit kill. The most common shadowblade is a "jack of all trades merchant of death". With poisons, massive crit strikes and left axe styles, these guys really live up to their well deserved reputation.

Thane: Great solo class. With self buffs, Instant DD and AoE, DD and the "pounding hammer" AoE, you will surely have no problems soloing with them. Either if u go in shield and (weapon of choice), or just (weapon of choice) and SC, you really get the job done.

Skald: I wouldn't reccomend them for solo. Theyre nice support classes, but don't hold up too well in solo situations. Sure you can kill yellows, but when yellows add you're better off clocking on that speed chant and hoping to find a guard.

Healer: Not a solo class. Better suited for group, with heals, buffs, and mezzes/stuns. They're definatly fun if you can find a group though.

Savage: They're good support tanks, with great damage dealing styles, and the self buffs. But i wouldn't reccomend these for solo either. They die fairly easy and don't get much in the way of hit points.

Let me know if this helps at all.

i would say a skald personaly its my first char and i have to say its rele good i can stormcall while being a tank and also instead of haveing to have shaman in the group i just use own dmg etc as the skald has such a fine singing voice, i also find them very effective in rvr as i can actually hit the enemy wityh out even running up to them and takeing the fact in account that im a tank

If you go solo then you don't get Realm points I think I am new also. Isn't not having Relam points a detriment to you character?

Also, what do you do if you want to solo and get your realm points in combination?

Can solo classes get good gear?

I was reading that catacombs was a good way to get exp and gear.

Regards.
