Warning to Players SE is STILL Banning!Follow

#427 Feb 18 2010 at 12:53 PM Rating: Excellent
Just as a heads up:

I am an old player (back from 2002) who decided to play again with my partner. So I bought a brand new copy of the Ultimate Collection for both of us. After playing for about 3 hours on tuesday, I was banned at 12:04am (stopped playing at 12:03am) for credit charge backs.

1) Don't use the online chat - they won't help you.
2) Billing/Accounts - Option 4 is what you want.

Hopefully my free trial is still in affect. Oh yea - they are doing this to BRAND NEW ACCOUNTS.

Pitiful.

Well I just bought this game at the first of the week, and convinced 4 friends to buy it as well, and today after the server maintenance was finally finished... I log in to discover that I've been banned!!

I've made like 4 tickets with them via there "support" site, their live chat support is down, conveniently, and there phone service is NOT toll free. So here I am with a game that I paid for and I am unable to play it or get service!

I've read a lot of threads in this and other forums, and I have seen a few people that actually spoke to someone in support, and were told that there account *would* be restored... I hope I am as lucky.

I know half of you are going to say "you only got banned if you deserved it" but no.. I didn't do anything! I only even played 10 hours.

it's around 9 months since the stupid company start massive ban on innocent players. is there no one smart enough to do anything to save our account?

like bring this issue to the big boss of the company? let them know what their employee is doing to their customers?

or make the papers to report it, sure they will do something about it?

i am not living in us, not sure how thing work in us, hope some1 can do something, and i believe only someone living inside us can do it.

I must say WOW! Ok. I’m new here but my husband has been playing for over 5 years now. We both decided to get FFIV but meanwhile we are waiting for the game to be released I wanted to have a taste of FFXI . That way I could get use to an MMORPG for the first time while having quality time with my husband. Here is the thing my husband bought me the game as a gift, on Friday, before Valentine’s day and that same night I logged in for the first time to FFXI and my first time to an MMORPG. Tuesday at 3 something AM my account was banned. I called and again, like every person that got banned ,they were very rude, not helpful and giving that same stupid answer which make them sound like robot, sooo systematic. BTW quick joke at least to relax a little bit, they reminded me of the character Carol Beer from the series “Little Britain” …. COMPUTER SAYS NOoooo. After several calls and chat sessions , they just told me it was banned because the RMT stuff. Ok, what can someone in 4 days do? No money just 5,000 gil that my husband gave me to get me started and some equipment for level 1 and high value or special items. Plus no extra character therefore no mules, no friends just my husband and he invited me to his LS, created 5 years ago, but I didn’t befriend with anyone and of course who would need a low level if everyone in there are levels 70 and up in their jobs. My husband is not involved in RTM and he didn’t get banned, just me out of the blue… in the middle of a quest in Sandoria I was kicked out. I just got to Monk Lvl 14

Please someone explain to me because I really don’t understand. Not warning, a call, at least suspension because I’m a new costumer. Ohhh another thing, we didn’t use the same computer or credit card. This is to weird. They really don’t care about their costumers or making money. Seriously with this first experience, I don’t know how would I want to get FFIV in the future? I’m so upset , I just wanted to enjoy FFXI and have quality time playing my husband’s favorite game. Now I have to wait a long time waiting for that response of unbanned *fingers crossed* and keep calling everyday until they get tired of me. Don't know what else can I do. I fell this hole in my stomach of sadness and anger at the same time for not being able to do something. My husband is going to try with a GM but as far as I know, they will not help either.

4 DAYS, THAT’S ALL WHAT IT TOOK!!!!

Forgive my grammar but English is not my first language.

Xukiro,

I did the same thing as you, and when I followed up via chat and their phones, they told me they escalated the issue to some team who reviews 'ban complaints' and that they would get back to me if they would be restoring my account. I'm calling them every day to see if the status has changed.

Did they do the same for you? If not, call them back and demand it!!

Hey Plattinus,

I'm calling everyday and yes they filed a ban complain but that's only thing they say. However I will keep calling until they get bored. I'll post if something change.

After reading the last 8 pages of this thread, I suppose there is only a very small chance that my account will be unbanned.. but I hope it is restored, I liked the game!

Yup, same here. I just called my credit card company to check just in case and they told me that there was a pending transaction from Square Enix O_O . You should check that our!! Called your company and ask if there is a transaction from SE. Make sure to specify that you are looking for a pending one otherwise they will tell you there is not. Since is pending there is no charge until it is cleared up.

It is funny since the person that I talked to from SE, told me that once your account is banned, the credit card is deleted. RIGHT! How come there is a pending transaction from them?? These people need learn how to work efficiently and organize.

SE are retards for auto banning people when a charge doesn't go though instantly. It means everyone who plays FFXI is at the mercy of their bank randomly putting a hold on a charge that the computers deem "suspicious" until a human being looks at it and contacts the customer.

Will be doing my monthly update call to the ICO today btw. I'm not letting the issue dropped, especially as I just got temp banned again for an allegation of harassment when I hadn't spoken to the person.

Just been jailed again, midway through a Nyzul run. I called in an MPK attempt by someone in the run, aftewe ended up with 4. Guys friend warped out soon as we entered for some reason, and this guy just ran in and aggro'd everything before bringing it to us.

I wanted him removed from the run at least, just to be homepoint as he wouldn't leave, and we were still trying to clear what we could. Instead, the GM's jailed me, leaving that Nyzul group with 3 people.

I'll be contacting ICO about this development tomorrow, in the hope they might speed things up a bit as well. All this action for no reason, and I'm never given a reason, could maybe be related to the complaint I made to the ICO.

Looks to me like they are trying to cook up a "legitimate" excuse to give the ICO about why you were banned.

And if you suspect you are ban , the same way as me, there
might be hope for you.

Will contact them once their office open, and if i did

So I noticed that this thread was first created a couple of months back. While there is still some more recent posts I just would like to ask if it is still just as Gummybearodin states. I have not been on since 2005-2006 and with FFXIV coming out soon I thought that maby I should check this out again. But reading this thread makes me think twice. I don't want to buy the game and then charge my CC only to be banned a couple of days later for no reason at all. So Please give me some type of good news that this was only a phase!

is my english so bad (not my 1st language) that i misunderstood the meaning of the letter? I thot it's appologising for the mistake, and ask me to contact them to get back my account?

after waiting for 1.5 hr on web chat, i finally connect to a agent, and tell me no, this letter is just to inform you to contact us, to see what we can do to help you, so i ask what he can do to help me, he say no but to wait for a letter stating my account is release.

**** you playonline, send me a confusing letter, make me wait for 1.5hr, to tell me carry on waiting, another 8 months i guess.

They know they are hosed and now they need to come up with a different fake reason so they won't have to give them the real reason. In the end it'll just get them in more trouble.

Worst part is, I got back from being away for the weekend to find that. I live alone, nobody has password or anything, security token used, and is attached to my keys anyway.

Also, my card is in date for another 18 months. No reasons at all, and the GM's didn't give me any reason either.

One of my friends quit the game a while back, and he let me use his char as a mule, I set it up for my CC about a week ago, and today received the LM-17 message.

He received this email:

I did not initiate any sort of charge back, the only thing I can think of is that it was in a temporary hold status for too long.

Wow, I'm also starting to think twice about putting any investment of time into FFXIV. I played FFXI in the past but stopped after Chains of Promathia came out so wasn't around when all of this started. Recently I decided to start FFXI again to last me until FFXIV came out but I definitely don't want to put any significant amount of time into a game and then have them take away your work because they THINK you are doing something disruptive. I love the Final Fantasy series of games and enjoyed FFXI until the repetition got to me towards the end but will now seriously think twice before investing anything into the games again. Hopefully this gets resolved in some way but it seems like it's been happening for quite awhile now.
