Of course anyone who is not ******* insane realizes that makes no sense, since they would only break even if 100% of the players moved to ff14 lose money regardless, as ff14 is not even out yet, and there will be some people who would have played both (or at least paid for both). That of course is not mentioning the fact that many people who get banned for no reason are going to avoid SE in the future, because of it.

That would be precisely why I said it COULD support said theory if you WANT it to. I didn't say that I actually believed that theory and that it was true. However, the fact remains that if you are banned from FFXI, you are not banned from playing FFXIV. I, however, will not be playing FFXIV regardless.

You assume that anything a company does is official company policy. This is not always the case. Many times internal politics kills off a product that was competing with someone else's favorite pet project or whatever other reason and it's only one or several people's private agenda.

Just today I got the ban lifted from my account that I hadn't played in over a year. I logged on the other day and updated POL and was Shocked to find that I had been banned! LM-17 Said to refer to the website and look under Online Manners for the reasons why and contact Service and Support. I wrote an email and got a reply saying to call the number or go through the online support. After reading almost all of these posts I was a little worried about calling since almost every body has had trouble with getting their accounts back online and still some are fighting for it.

I called with User ID in hand waiting for a fight.. I'm a really good arguing over the phone in situations like this. Gave them my ID and then told him why I was calling. He then told me he has to verify more info before being able to tell me why the ban was on my account. Asked for info on the credit card, email address, home address, and telephone number. All this info besides the credit card is over 6 years old so I had to think back to what everything was when I created the account. He was very patient and helped me remember what my email address was back then.

After everything was verified, he told me that something to do with a credit card and he can reverse the ban. In less then 5 mins on the phone, my account is back and ready to be used.

I'm sorry that everyone else is having so much issues. I would just keep trying till you get a guy like I got. He was really nice. Goodluck

I'm not so sure I believe this to be honest. It seems convenient that people miraculously are able to talk to managers or supervisors who are willing to help actually restore an account. Every time I ask to speak to a supervisor or a manager I hit a brick wall and nobody wants to help with anything. Either you guys are getting super lucky, or I'm calling shenanigans. A few of my former LS members got banned as well and they are having the same luck I am with their customer service, i.e. none at all. They treat all of us the same.

I am being completely honest here about my account. Why would I lie? I was on Fenrir as Sweetslayer.. Whitemage.. I got banned for credit card issues. Here's the email I received from SE as proof. I feel I did get super lucky after reading everything posted on here. Also, I didn't even have to ask to speak with a manager. I just talked to the guy that answered my call. In less then 5 mins, I had my account unbanned.

Being devil's advocate here but, if you were a shill? It's a well known fact that pretty much every game company uses forum shills. There are companies that specialize in doing this for game developers.

A shill is an associate of a person selling goods or services or a political group, who pretends no association to the seller/group and assumes the air of an enthusiastic customer.

Actually i also suspect the same thing. After reading how someone actually got their accounts unban, i thot that bas tard company start to wake up, decide to try my luck contact them, but still get the same f ucking answer, what we can do is file a ban complaint for you.

So i also wonder why some can miraculously get a nice agent to help them unban their account, whereas all the other get is a *** hole *** bas tard agent.

BTW not only playonline ban pp without reason, allakhazam ban other for no reason too. My 1st account post some thing like a new scam RMT used to trick player, trying to warn other, but get ban after that post.

This is my 2nd account, i suspect will get ban too after this post.

Anyway, the greater power you got, the greater bas tard you become i suspose,
When you got the power to ban other, you can just ban anyone you like.

I am finding this a bit crazy that people don't believe me. I am not fake. I am not a shill. I defiantly didn't make up some story about being banned. I am a real person that had the same problem you all had. I called and got my account unbanned. Maybe others that are having issues with getting their accounts unbanned are for other reasons besides credit cards? Maybe the guy thought I sounded hott on the phone or he felt sorry for me cause I had two kids Screaming in the background?? I don't know.

I thought i would share my story of me getting unbanned so you all could have some hope or something to get even more pee'd off at SE about. I think it's very unfair that people were banned from a game that they had to pay for.. pay for the expansions.. played for 5-6 yrs and also paid Monthly for! I was soooo mad when I seen that I had been banned. All the time and money I had put into that game!

I'm sorry that not everyone is having my kind of luck and goodluck with getting your account back or atleast getting justice with a lawsuit if possible and I am NOT a shill and I am NOT lying haha so crazy that I even have to write that. Posted below is my xfire. Look at the videos.. look at the screenshots.. I am not fake.

I think you guys give SE a little bit too much credit there.

I mean, seriously, WTF makes you think that they give enough of a flying **** about their NA playerbase to take any kind of money out of their budget for something like a shill?
#415 Dec 27 2009 at 4:26 PM Rating: Decent
I'm just wondering, but has anyone checked for legal action against SE for their wrongful bannings? If anything; it wouldn't hurt to send the fury of the Attorney General at their American part of the company.

The AG will determine if any action should be taken towards the company. This will catch the attention of any company, no matter how big or small. How far this goes is determined by how many legitimate complaints they receive about the company.

Remember, when filing a AG complaint, it should be to the AG of the state that the company resides with-in.

To file against Square Enix, you file in California.

You really don't have many legal rights to your character. At least not in the US and not as of yet. Give it another 5-10 years and things may change some. Until then SE can ban you for whatever reason they like.

I think you're rite, that ******* company will not employ shills, as those ******* did not care about their reputation at all.

But at the same time, i did not believe anyone will get unban, sorry if you did, but i just simply dun believe, until i get unban myself. Just dun belive those ******* is so kind to unban someone.

Those fu cking god-damned money-faced, un-human, square enix fu cking *******, won't do nice thing like unban innocent players.

That's my conclusion.

I totally understand where you're coming from and I have no proof to offer about my own story, but seeing as how my brother is logged in and playing again and I've got my own accounts up and running, I can simply repeat that for me, it's happened.

I wish I had an answer for why you haven't had the same luck - you've been one of the more vocal people in this thread and have provided a lot of information back when everything was locked up tight. I hope that at some time in the future, you will at least get your answers.

i think i know the answer.

square enix or playonline trying to make their customers service work just like the game play. Good agent is just like carbucle ruby, drop rate is less than 1%.

every 100 victims, only 1 get to speak to a human, the other 99 will met a basta rd who keep repeating like a robot, "i can only file a ban complaint for you....want to know the reason you get ban? maybe nx life..speak to manager??? hmmm do we have 1? you want to complaint? hmmm you can send to this email address...but it will not be read, and will get deleted immediately"

that sum up my experience with them.

Just spoken to the ICO. The team my complaint was passed to currently has a backlog going back to May. Mine was submitted end of September, so it's going to be a while yet.

Here is my comment for the FFXIV conspiracy theory. MMO population is exponential; look at World of Warcraft. To get people to switch over would help FFXIV succeed even if you loose money on the people who won't transfer or are not paying fees between the period they are not playing FFXI and when FFXIV launches. You will make money off the extra population you get from the FFXI players and whoever they bring with them.

It's unlikely and a cruel was of doing things, but it's not like it's a completely terrible move.

I played previously for 5 years and I ended up quitting for about 3 years. I decided to come back so I got buy the new bundle and create a new account. Create a new character yesterday and play through out the day. Wake up this morning and I'm banned LM-17. Banned after 1 day. Really? Apparently I should of chose Aion instead. Think I would of been able to get more than 1 day of playtime till I would be hacked.

Ridiculous.
